Commonwealth of Massachusetts Suffolk ss Then personally appeared B R Curtis & made oath that he would faithfully perform the duties of secretary of the Pros. of the Cemy. of Mt. Auburn.

Pursuant to notice issued by the Secy, the Trustees of the Pros of Mount Auburn met at the office of the Secy

Present Messrs Story, Bigelow, Gould, Parker Bond Reed, Armstrong, C P. Curtis & B. R. Curtis

Gate way.

Voted _ That the Comee on Lots be authorized to cause the Gate_way to be repainted in such manner as they may deem expedient.

New Lots.

Voted That the subject of a new survey & the laying out of all the Lots be referred to the Comee on Lots & to report to a future meeting.

Ponds

Voted. That the Comee on Lots be authorized to have the ponds cleared out at such time as they may deem expedient

Voted That the application of Mr D. L. Ware be referred to the Comee on Lots with power to act thereon.

Swedenborgian Society

Voted That the application on behalf of the Swedenborgian Society be referred to the Comee on Lots.

Voted; That a comee of three be appointed to report on the subject of rebuilding the gate of stone, constructing a new fence enlarging the grounds of the Cemy & planting trees.

Voted That this comee consist of the President, Dr. Bigelow & Mr Parker

Voted That the Pres. be requested to communicate to the family of the late George Bond Esqr, the assurance of the sincere sympath of the Trustees in their recent bereavement & to express their grateful acknowledgment on behalf of the Pros. of the Cemetery of the faithful & valuable services of their friend & associate, as one of the founders & Trustees of the Cemetery & as the Treasurer of the Corporation since its establishment

Trustees

Pursuant to notice issued by C.P. Curtis in behalf of the Secretary the Trustees of the Pros. of the Cemy of Mount Auburn met at the office of the Secretary .

Present Messrs Bigelow C.P. Curtis B. R. Curtis, Parker & Story. Voted. To approve the bond of the Treasurer with Messrs Weld & May as surities & that the Secretary file the same.

Gate Report on Rebuilding Gate &c

Voted. That the Comee on lots be authorized to make a contract to carry into effect the first resolution of the report of the Comee as to the building of a gate & also that they have authority to carry into effect the other resolutions contained in the said report.

The said report is as follows:

The Comee appointed to report on the subject of rebuilding the gate of stone, constructing a new fence, enlarging the grounds of the cemetery & planting trees respectfully report, that they have had the subjects committed to them under consideration & have come to the following resolutions

First. That it is expedient to construct the entrance gate of Mount Auburn

with the adjacent Porters Lodges of hammered granite, of substantially the same form made & dimensions as the present gate & lodges. That this object can be accomplished within a reasonable time without breaking in upon what they deem a desirable object, the retaining of a fund in the hands of the corporation which shall be adequate to all the expenses of the Corporation. They think that contracts may be made for the furnishing the granite & erecting the gate & lodges within a period of two years from the time the contracts are made; & that in this manner the prolonged time will enable the work to be done in a cheaper & in a more perfect style. If this course is adopted, the sum of Twenty five thousand dollars which is the present fund may be kept whole for the purposes of the institution & the monies received from the sales of the lots & interest upon the accummulation & the surplus will be found at the end of the time two years adequate to the accomplishment of the object

Iron Fences

Second. The comee also suggest that it will be desireable as soon as the gate & lodges are completed to begin to erect an iron fence on the whole front line of the grounds at Mount Auburn & to

given to any person who shall give information to the Trustees of any such offence which shall lead to the detection of the offender.

(4) The Superintendent of the grounds, the gate keeper & any other person acting under them, shall have a right to require his or her names from any person other than a proprietor or a member of his family who shall visit the grounds, & upon his or her refusal or giving a false name it shall be his duty to exclude them from the grounds.

(5) The superintendent the gatekeeper & all other persons acting under them shall have full authority to carry these regulations into effect & shall give notice of any violations thereof to the Trustees

(6) The Comee on Lots shall have authority to set up a gate board near the gate at Mount Auburn offering a reward not exceeding twenty dollars to any person who shall give notice information to the Trustees which shall lead to a conviction of the offence of any trespass done by taking or plucking any flowers shrubs or trees within the grounds, or otherwise injuring the grounds, or of any other offence against the laws & regulations provided for the protection of the
