At a meeting of the Garden & Cemetery Com--
mittee, held April 10 1832, present— Judge
Story, General Dearborn, Mr Bond, Mr Cook,
and Mr Gould, the following preamble and vote
are passed—

Carriages excluded

Whereas sundry interments have been made in the
Cemetery of Mount Auburn, and it has now become
indispensably necessary, in order to carry into effect
the original purposes of the consecration of the said
grounds, to exclude carriages and horses— Voted
that after 30^th April current no horses or vehicles
except those attending on funerals, will be admitted
into the grounds of Mount Auburn;—

Visitors will be admitted through the lodge-door
leaving their carriages and horses at the gateway
where conveniences will be found for fastening
them—

Superintendant's Books.

Voted that Mess^r Bond & Curtis provide suitable
books for the Superintendant to keep the registry
of interments in—

Voted that Mess^r Bond & Curtis cause the inscript-
tion over the gateway to be removed, and the same
inscription to be replaced in larger letters—

Posts &c.

Voted that Gen: Dearborn, cause posts & rails to be
set up outside the Gate for the purpose of fastening
horses—

Public Lot &c.

Voted that Gen: Dearborn cause the Garden ^^{paths &c.} to be
finished, & the Public Lot to be completed, & the
ground about the Gate put in order, provided
the expense do not exceed $150 dollars—
