damages caused by the overturning of a team, to the
effect that the subjects referred to them as above
stated had received their consideration, but that they
were as yet unprepared to report thereon, and
requesting that further time might be granted therefor.

Voted, – that the request of the Committee be acceded
to, and that they have leave to sit again.

Engineering & surveying; Comⁿ of Supt. resp'g. favorable rep. on.

The same Committee reported favorably upon
the communication of the Superintendent dated
June 8^t, 1874, recommending certain changes in the
department of engineering and surveying, and
submitted to the consideration of the Board the
following vote, which was adopted; –

Employment of Surveyor authorized S. L. Brown

Voted, – that the Superintendent be authorized to
employ a surveyor at a salary not exceeding one
thousand dollars, ($1000. –) per annum; said surveyor
to furnish a transit and level at his own expense,
and to perform the duties designated in the said
communication of the Superintendent dated June 8^t, '74.

Shed near Gate. Erection of authorized. & appropriation of $225. – for ordered.

The same Committee submitted a communication
from the Superintendent dated June 10^t, 1874, in regard
to the erection of a shed near the Gate, to keep his
horse and vehicle under cover in hot or bad weather,
recommending that his request be granted, & submitting
to the consideration of the Board the following vote
which was adopted; –

Voted, – that the Superintendent be authorized to
construct a shed in the rear of the Reception house,
