Statue of James Otis

Voted. That the President be instructed
and authorized in the name and behalf of this Cor-
poration to contract with some suitable artist, to be se-
lected by him for a statue of James Otis, in marble
the cost of which shall not exceed five thousand dollars.

Statue of John Adams.

Voted. That the President be instructed
and authorized in the name and behalf of this Corpora-
tion to contract with some suitable artist to be selected
by him for a statue of John Adams^ in marble the cost of
which shall not exceed five thousand dollars.

Assistant Superintendent

Mr Bangs reported "no progress" in the selection
of an assistant superintendent.

Trustees. .

The regular monthly meeting of the Trustees was holden
on the , at the office of C. P. Curtis Esqr at 12 M. Present Messrs
Bigelow, Bangs, Crockett, Gould, Little and Parker.

The Record of the last meeting was read and approved.

Kalmias

Dr. Bigelow reported that he has caused more than one
hundred Kalmias to be transported from Wilton N. H. and set
out in the Cemetery, and also other ornamental shrubs from
New York. The Kalmias are planted along the front line of the
Cemetery Eastward from the gate, and some of them by the
pond called Meadow - Pond.

Cart Gate. Way

Mr Bangs from the Committee on the cart way gate
reported that by proper signs on the gate, inside and out, the
object of keeping it closed was effected.

Dr. Bigelow was now called away from the meeting.
