Sam^l T. Snow. Esq., Chairⁿ Comm on Lots

Dear Sir,

About four days ago Mr. Jonathan Mann came to me as agent for Mr J. C. Buchnam, prop^r, of lot. 4215 - 16, Hazel Dell, to see on what terms we would do the labor & furnish the staple materials for a tomb he is preparing to build there.

I asked him to put his ideas in writing, but as time pressed, I wrote them down & he signed the letter which I enclose.

I also enclose a draft of a letter about such.

Dear Sir,

I am just in receipt of a note from Mr. Jona Mann, (as ag't for J.C. Bucknam,) in which he says that he is desirous of beginning his Tomb very soon, and would like to get our proportion in answer to his enquiries about gravel, loam, sods, &c.

I have heard nothing from him in answer to our proposition for building the Tomb, and I presume he is waiting to get the other before giving his answer.

Dear Sir,

In view of the [true?] fact that many Proprietors find it economical to provide wooden covers on valuable monuments during the winter, I have sometimes thought it might be advisable for the Corp. to do the same in the case of some lots under "Perp. Care" guaranteed and if it wise. I have caused a list of such "guaranteed" Lots as I thought warranted the expense, to be made^^{(Enclosed herewith)} and these are, no doubt some "Unguaranteed" lots, on which there is a sufficient fund
