Trustees. June 14^t 1871.

June 14^t, 1871.

The regular monthly meeting of the Trustees
was held on Wednesday June 14^t, 1871, at half past Three
o'clock, P. M.

Present Messrs. Bigelow, N. J. Bradlee, Lawrence,
Snow and Turner

In the absence of the President the Meeting was
called to order by the Secretary, and M^r Turner was
elected chairman.

Resignation of M^r Edward S. Rand

The Secretary having read a communicaton
from M^r Edward S. Rand, dated the 12^t inst. resigning his
office as Trustee, it was

Voted, – that said resignation be accepted.

Vote of thanks to M^r Rand.

On motion of Dr. Bigelow, it was unanimously

Voted, – that the Secreary be instructed to present to
M^r Rand the thanks of the Board of Trustees for his long,
faithful, and valuable services to the Corporation.

Comⁿ from Dr. Bigelow as to purchase of land from heirs of Stone.

A communication from Dr. Bigelow dated the 8^t
inst. in which he states that "there is an offer from certain
heirs of Stone to sell to M^t Auburn about fourteen acres of
land adjoining the Western side of the Cemetery for about
$30,000. –" accompanied with a written opinion in regard
to said proposal, was submitted to the Board.

Fitchburg R. R. Co. Offer to convey land on condition

Also a communication dated May 16^t, 1871, from
W^m B. Stearns Pres^t of the Fitchburg Railroad Co., covening [sic] an
offer from the Railroad Co. to convey to M^t Auburn Cemetery
Corporation a strip of land adjoining the Cemetry, and nearly
opposite the M^t Auburn Depot, upon conditon that the
