S.T. Snow Esq
Chair. Comm. on Lots

Dear Sir

In answer to your inquiry as
to the cost of perpetual care of the sod on single lots
in the old Cemetery, I hand you the following figures which
are the actual amounts charged to 29 lots of different
sizes from 1870 to 1875 inclusive, a period of six years. These
figures include all moneys spent for the care, top dressing spending
of the lots and repairs & renewal of sod. During the three years
(1873,4,5) which I have had the care of the lots, the cost
has been charged for at the same rates as for work done
for proprietors, and therefore there was some 10% profit on
this work, as there are no bad debts to allow for during
1870, 1 and 2, the work done on perpetual care lots appears
to be charged for at rates higher than these charged proprietors
for the same work.

I consider therefore that the actual cost is a little less than
the table shows, ($1.019 pr sq foot.)
