Dear Sirs

The flower borders on each side of the step on lot 3230 belong to the Corporation and I Cannot therefore give any permission to purchase them.

Yrs truly

J. W. Lovering

Supt

Messers Evans & Tombs

Dear Sirs:

Your order for a foundation in lot 1965 received, but as there are several graves in the rear of the lot which extend to within about one foot of centre of same, I think it will be necessary to place the monument farther front.

Yours Resp'y

J. W. Lovering Supt.

Dear Sirs:-

Enclosed I send you the tracing referred to in my note of this morning. There are two stones in the lot, the central monument and a headstone marked Josiah Fiske Aged 2 Yrs. 9 Mos.

Mr. McArthur saw the lady in regard to the foundations on the Sargent Lot #3266, but she did not give an order.

Respectfully yours,

Supt.

#4534-4584-S

Alexander McDonald & Son, Cambridge.

Dear Sirs: -

No order has been received at this office for setting the headstone on lot #4534. An order, which appears to have come through your firm, for the foundation only, has been received and completed.

The tablet on the Prescott lot was set in two separate jobs, in accordance with your request, the base on May 29th and the balance last month, and hence the charge $2.20 is larger than if set at one time. The Prescott headstone must have been washed since you have seen it, as it now appears to be perfectly clean.

Respectufully yours,

Dear Sirs:-

To move the headstone now at the grave of Benj. Smith in Lot #2284 on the same line to centre between that grave and the grave of Mary Oakes Smith, building a proper foundation, will cost $15.00

Respectfully yours,

Supt.

Messrs Alexander McDonald & Son, Cambridge

Dear Sirs: -

The figures in my estimate of the cost of moving the headstone and foundation in the Smith lot #2284 are correct. If the stone is moved as indicated, the founation will have to be entirely reconstructed to be substantial.

Respectfully yours

Supt.

John T. Bradlee, Esq. {Chairman Sub. Committee on Sphinx,}

Dear Sir

In a conversation with Mr. MacDonald today, he expressed himself willing to adhere to his former offer about shedroom for the Sphinx, i.e. that we might have such shedroom, (in such part of the yard near the track as he pointed out, immediately next to his own office,) free of rent, and that no charge should be made us unless for such moving of his stock, marble, &c, as might be in the way of getting the statue out of the yard; also the usual charge for the passage of a car over his side track.

He also agreed to take the shed off of our hands when done with, if left in good order, & pay us the cost of the lumber, but nothing for labor.
