John T. Bradlee, Esq. {Chairman Sub. Committee on Sphinx,}

Dear Sir

In a conversation with Mr.
MacDonald
today, he expressed himself
willing to adhere to his former offer
about shedroom for the Sphinx, i.e. that
we might have such shedroom, (in such
part of the yard near the track as he
pointed out, immediately next to his own
office,) free of rent, and that no charge
should be made us unless for such moving
of his stock, marble, &c, as might be in
the way of getting the statue out of the
yard; also the usual charge for the
passage of a car over his side track.

He also agreed to take
the shed off of our hands when done
with, if left in good order, & pay us
the cost of the lumber, but nothing
for labor.
