Clear Ther. 55o WED. SEPT. 7th, 1892 Wind N.W. Cool again. W went to work with F Leizear again, at Sherwood School House. Mrs Emily Jackson here again for advice & medicine. on way to "Meeting" with Sarah Stabler. Fanny Peirce called also little Fanny from Riverside. Afternoon I took Edwd to Ashton & bought hat & shoes for him. After supper Willie drove Frank to E Peirce's to bring Fanny here to go to the "Fair" at Rockville tomorrow, but she could not go, and he came home alone.

Cloudy & Clear Ther. 63 THURSDAY 8th Wind N.W. Willie took Edwd to the "Fair" at Rockville driving "Frank" to phaeton. Afternoon "Sophie" Webster was here for advice & medicine. W & Edwd returned from the "Fair" about 4-30 p.m.

Cloudy & Clear Ther. 65o FRI. SEPT. 9th, 1892 Wind Variable My 63rd birthday. W worked at Sherwood School house until noon. Afternoon Fred: Iddings & his mother were here, he expects to return to Philada tomorrow feeling so much improved in health that he can resume his business. Fanny & Bessie walked over from Riverside. Afternoon Willie drove to E Peirce's to take tea & spent the evening. Last night we had a good rain & some thunder & lightening between mid night & day light this a.m.

Clear & Cloudy Ther. 66o SATURDAY 10th Wind Variable W worked at "Sherwood" with F Leizear again. I drove down to Ashton (Edwd with me) to see A G thomas about getting him into Sherwood School. Sister Harriet came from "the Cottage" & Fanny Peirce took her to their house to make a visit. Afternoon I walked up to the store. Just as we were sitting down to supper, Mr A G Matthews brought Ida & the baby (our first little grand daughter). he went on to Mr Holland's leaving them here.

Clear Ther. 66 SUN. SEPT 11th 1892 wind S.E. Bro: R called on way to meeting I drove to Chas Hammond's and afterwards took Ida & the baby over to Miss Holland's to call & back to dinner. Hallie Bentley called for some medicine. also Mrs E Jackson. Afternoon I was sent for to see "Joe" Evans, a colored man, who was shot with a Revolver in the hands of another at Sharp St Church about 4-30 o'clk: he was dead when I got there. "Perry Campbell" is said to be the man who shot him. Mr A. G. Mathews called & took Ida and the baby home with him. W went to Edwd Peirce's after dinner.

Clear Ther. 66 MONDAY 12th Wind I took Edwd to "Sherwood School" & entered him as a pupil having had an understanding with A. G. Thomas to get him in at "half rate". I also went to the Public School & started Miss Ida Dove as teacher there. Afternoon Willie left in the stage for Laurel on way to Wellsborough Tioga Co. Pa: to learn "floraculture" with Wm Whiting. Sarah Johnson was here with toothache she is daughter of Harriet Dorsey J. T. Henderson brought his daughter "Ella" "May" to the office at tea time. Gilbert T Smith Jr: called.

Cloudy & Rain Ther. 65o TUES. SEPT 13th, 1892 Wind S.E. Cloudy & threatning until about 10 o'clk when it commenced raining & continued more or less all day. Edwd went to school again at Sherwood. I went with Bulwar over to the Public School House to inspect the stove. Mrs R R Moore Jr: sent for medicine. Lizzie Iddings took sister H to Mary Gilpin's to dine & I sent Jno W Johnson in the phaeton for her before tea time. Edwd: took the milk cans to "Downey's" to commence getting milk from them in future four times a week, mondays wednesdays, fridays & saturdays, in the morning.

Clearing Ther. 65o WEDNESDAY 14th Wind S.W. It rained very hard last night several times but cleared off this morning. Afternoon Alice & Fanny Peirce came to say "good bye" to Sister Harriet who expects to return to Phila tomorrow taking the little girls with her. "Fanny" & "Bessie". Mrs Snowden & Sarah Stabler also called.

Clear Ther. 61 THURS. SEPT. 15th, 1892 Wind N.W. Beautiful morning. Sister H & the little girls "Fanny" & "Bessie" left in the early stage for Laurel & home in Philada & I drove to Clifton "Phil" with me. I prescribed for Robt H Miller at Ashton. Bro Charles dined with us & went to Warwick Stabler's "sale". Afternoon Fanny Peirce came & took Dora home with her to go with them tomorrow to Miss Cook's. Eleanora Bell washed for Harriet. After tea I walked with E down to the School house for one of his books.

Clear Ther. 51o FRIDAY 16th Wind N.W. Another lovely autumn day I was called to see Old Warner Cook's wife & I drove over & prescribed for her. Mr: J Duck going with me. Afternoon I drove up to E Peirce's expecting to bring Dora home but she had not returned from "Glenwood" & Miss M Cook's I came home without her.

Clear Ther. 54 SAT. SEPT 17th, 1892 Wind N.W. Old Chas: Hammond was here before breakfast. I drove to Warner & Cook's & Edwd: Peirce's & brought Dora home to dinner. "After supper" Joe Pax Iddings came up from Washington & Silver Spring & concluded to remain with us all night & I will take him over to "Riverside" tomorrow morning. Luther Muncaster called.

Clear Ther. 55 SUNDAY 18th Wind N.W. I drove down to Ashton to see M R Evans & to Chas Hammond's to see his wife "Sarah" & thence to Riverside taking "Joe" P Iddings with me. I came home to dinner. Ed: Gilpin came after dinner & borrowed the buggy tongue or poll to use today.

Clear Ther. 59o MON. SEPT. 19th 1892 Wind N.W. Headache this morning Dora seems rather better but still complaining. Lavinia Awkard was here for advice & med: for her daughter "Susie'. Also Mrs C Grady for her son "Sammy". Afternoon went to store & P.O. rec'd letter from sister H.

Cloudy & Threatening Ther. 58o TUESDAY 20 Wind N.E. "Phil" rode "Frank" to Olney to get butter, but could not find any. I drove to Rockville to a meeting at the County Medical Society "Phil" going with me: Reached home just at dusk 6.25 p.m.

Cloudy & Rain Ther. 60 WED. SEPT. 21st, 1892 Wind N.E. & N.W. Cloudy & threatning all forenoon & rain at intervals all afternoon & evening. Jno W. Johnson came for me to make out more pension papers for him. I walked up to the store. I rewrote the essay I read before the County Medical Society last May & which was voted upon & ordered published in the "Maryland Medical Journal" of Balto:

Cloudy & Rainy Ther. 61 THURSDAY 22 Wind Variable Disagreeable rainy morning. I drove over to see Lavinia Awkard's daughter "Susie". Mr: Jas Duck going with me. Feel quite unwell, sore throat & headache. Rec'd letter from Charley & also from Penn Mutual Ins: Co: with money order $3.00. Mrs Cy Grady was here to consult me about "Sammy" again.

Cloudy & Rainy 63 Ther. FRI. SEPT.23, 1892 Wind N.E. Disagreeable & rainy most of the day - I feel rather better than yesterday but not well enough to go out in the rain unless absolutely necessary. Gideon Gilpin was here towards dusk for medicine for himself.

Cloudy Clearing Ther. 68o SATURDAY 24th Wind Variable Quite hot today. I drove down to Ashton to M H Evans, E with me. Lavinia Awkard sent one of her girls for advice & medicine for "Susie" who is better.

Clear Ther. 68o SUN. SEPT. 25th, 1892 Wind S.W. Another hot day for the time of year. I am feeling very badly and low spirited. Chas: Awkard (young son of Old Bob Awkard) was here after dusk to consult me & promised to come again tomorrow or the next day & bring the money. Hillis Robison fell out of a tree & injured himself considerably breaking a rib & injuring his left wrist. I went in and "fixed him up" after dinner.

Clear Ther. 62o MONDAY 26th Wind N.W. Cooler today the wind commenced blowing hard at sunrise & continued all day. I rode over to Downey's on horseback to see him about wood. I put up my new sign, with "office hours" on the N.E. corner of the office. Miss Mary Fowler painted it for me. Afternoon I helped Henderson put a new "smoke stack" to his boiler. Helen B Lea was here with her infant son "Robt", T."
