Clear Ther. 45o TUES. SEPT. 27th, 1892 Wind N.W. Quite cold this morning. I drove up to "Marden" & made a friendly call. Eleanora came & washed for H. Lavinia Awkard sent for more advice & medicine for two of her daughters. "Gus" Hopkins was here afternoon. also Mary Tasko at supper time. I started sister Harriet's box of preserves by the afternoon stage E Gilpin taking it in charge promising to ship it fromLaurel by Express. "C.O.D." as she requested.

Clear Ther.49o WEDNESDAY 28th Wind N.W. Beautiful autumn day. Jas: A. Bryan was here for advice & medicine for himself & wife. Afternoon I took Harriet & Dora over to call at "Homewood" & Eldon" driving "Frank" to the "Surry". Rose Murphy (colored) was here with her infant for advice etc after dark. Mrs Chas: Stabler was here to see Harriet this morning. I walked up to the store & P.O. after supper. Mailed postal card to sister Harriet.

Clear Ther. 66o THURS. SEPT. 29th, 1892 Wind S.W. I was sent for to see Mrs Rodney Boswell again, and drove down to their place. Mr Jas Duck going with me. Afternoon he left Mrs Robison's & returned to Mrs: Ellicott's at Brighton who is to return with her daughter from their "summer outing" tomorrow.

Clear Ther. 66 FRIDAY 30th Wind N.W. I drove down to Ashton before dinner for some medicines. Afternoon I took Harriet & Dora over to "Riverside", calling at "Bloomfield" to see Helen B Lea, who had gone to "Eldon", where we also called as well as at "Homewood" for a few minutes. we reached home soon after 4. o'clock.

Cloudy Ther. 67 OCT 1st, 1892 Wind Variable Cloudy & threatning all day but did not rain. Helen B. Lea & her infant son "Robert" came to tea & to spend the night with us. After supper Green Howard came for me & I rode over on horse back to see his son, a boy about 7 years old who had fallen about 10 feet, striking on his head on the barn floor.

Clear Ther. 43° SUNDAY 2 Wind N.W. Clear & frosty this morning. Bro: R called on way to meeting. Helen B Lea went to Bloomfield after spending the night here. Afternoon Bro: Chas called on his way to Brooke Grove. Alice & Fanny Peirce walked over & spent the afternoon here. Dora & Edwd walked part of the way home with them. Green Howard came over & reported his boy "better". The weather is much cooler, there was quite a frost last night in the low grounds and enough to "nip" tender plants here.

Clear Ther. 41 MON. OCT. 3d, 1892 Wind N.W. & SW A boy from John Thomas's named "Johnson" was here advice & medicine before I was up this a.m. Joseph Bond Jr: was here with a piece of steel in his right eye. John W Johnson came before dinner & emptied the "tanks" from the "Garden House" etc. Frederic Tyson arrived about 4. o'clk p.m. & after taking a "nap" I loaned him "Frank" & the phaeton to drive to "Marden" to call.

Cloudy Ther. 63° TUESDAY 4th Wind Variable Colored man "Foreman" (who lives at Asa Stabler's) was here before I was up with "gonorrhea", but not bring "cash" I sent him away. I sent F Tyson to "Marden"to the wedding of Martha Tyson & Mr Marshall to take place at noon. "John" took him in the Surry driving "Frank" & was to remain at his service until he was ready to return here. J Bond Jr: was here again for treatment for his eye.

Clear Ther. 60 WED. OCT. 5th 1892 Wind N.W. F. Tyson left in the early stage for Balto. Sister Beulah came to spend the day. Helen B Lea also came & staid during meeting time with her son Henry & her infant Robt: Bro R called & Mrs Gideon Gilpin here for med: for Gideon & to consult me for herself. John Johnson here all day & finished trimming the hedge. Just at dusk I was sent for & rode to Ashton & prescribed for Mrs. Ent. After supper I attended a democratic meeting at the Lyceum & heard an excellent speech from Hon'. Mr McKaig our representative in Congress.

Clear Ther. 40 THURSDAY 6th Wind N.W. Cold with high wind, felt quite unwell with "headache" all day. Prof: Charles Stabler was here to consult me in relation to a broken front tooth from a base ball accident. I rode to Ashton towards evening to see Mrs. Ent again, she having sent for me by a note from Mrs: T Marlow.

Clear Ther. 43° FRI. OCT 7th, 1892 Wind N.W. Rather warmer today. I drove down to Ashton to see Mrs Ent again before dinner. Afternoon I helped "Phil & Frank" sweep out the Lyceum after which I drove to Ashton called to see M K Evans, also drove down to John Thomas to see Chas: Howard "Phil" going with me. Rachel Spriggs was here to consult me about her eyes Henson Hopkins was here after I had gone to bed for advice and medicine for his wife "(Emiline.)" I loaned him an injection syringe which he promised to return tomorrow.

Clear & Cloudy Ther. 60° SATURDAY 8 Wind Bro: R & sister Mary called Henson Hopkins brought home injection syringe. I drove over to see his wife & from there over to see Charles Addison's wife beyond Hollands Corner. Cousin Hannah Chandlee dined with us. Edwd: went with me in my drives this morning. It clouded over before dinner after the sun had shone (at times) as hot as July & before I reached home we had a shower of rain and about 6. o'clk p.m. it set in for a settled autumn rain. After dark I walked up to the store, through the rain for a bag of smoking tobacco.

Cloudy & Clearing Ther. 52 SUN. OCT. 9th, 1892 Wind N.W. Emiline Hopkins sent for me again before I was downstairs. After breakfast I drove over to see her "Phil" going with me. Dora walked up to E Peirce's to attend church this afternoon. Chas: Addison was here to report his wife's case. Mr Jas: Duck called to see me. Edwd & Phil took the Surry & drove to Brighton after church to bring Dora home. Bessie Robison went with them, she & "Phil" took tea here. Edwd N Bentley was here after advice & medicine for Helen B Lea. I had gone to bed before he came.

Clear Ther. 54 MONDAY 10th Wind N.W. I drove down to "Bloomfield" to see Helen B Lea, and over to Henson Hopkins to see his wife who is much improved since yesterday. "Uncle Henson" was here to see me. Luther Muncaster came after tea & spent the evening here. We had some music for the first time since Willie left home.

Clear Ther. 45 TUES. OCT. 11th, 1892 Wind S.W. After breakfast Harriet and I drove over to Riverside to call upon sister Mary. Afternoon sister M & Lizzie were here. Eliza B Moore & Anna Parker called to see me about Helen B Lea. I was sent for to see Emiline Hopkins again & drove over there bringing her boy back with me for medicine which I sent by him Alcinda Hill was here for advice & med: for her child.

Clear Ther. 54 WEDNESDAY 12th Wind N.E. This afternoon has been a beautiful autumn day. I drove to Bloomfield to see Helen Lea & infant taking H with me, we afterward's called at Edwd Bentley's. Sister Beulah called here with little Henry for me to examine his ears. I also drove down to see Emiline Hopkins. Miss B Tyson was here to consult me. Towards evening Eliza Moore came for me to go again to see Helen & I rode down with her & walked home. After dark I walked to the store & mailed letter to W.

Cloudy Ther. 55 THURS. OCT 13th, 1892 Wind N.E. Bro: Chas called. I drove down to see Emeline Hopkins again & called at "Bloomfield" to see Helen Lea again. Afternoon I walked up to the store & P.O. Fanny Peirce came to spend the night.

Clear Ther. 62 FRIDAY 14th Wind Mrs Gideon Gilpin called & settled her account for professional services. Afternoon Helen B Lea sent up from "Bloomfiled" for me & I walked down to see little Robt: who I hope is not much amiss. She expects to start for home tomorrow. Dora walked over to "Eldon" with Fanny Peirce before dinner. I went after her towards evening & met her on the road near Benj Miller's.

Clear Ther. 62 SAT. OCT. 15th, 1892 Wea. Clear & slightly "hazy", but beautiful autumn weather. I drove over to see Emeline Hopkins again & brought her back with me for some medicine for her. Helen B Lea left for home (Lawrence Mass:). Towards evening I drove to Ashton for some coal oil medicine etc Edwd with me. Sister Lizzie was here in the afternoon.

Clear Ther. 63 SUNDAY 16th Wind Another lovely autumn day. The leaves on the trees have "turned" very rapidly within the past few days. We all spent a quiet day at home, except that Edwd took a walk with the friends next door this afternoon. There has been a great deal of travel past here to day, the fine weather & roads bringing many persons out to drive. There has not been a single caller here either social or professional which is very unusual. "Turner" from "Marden" was here after dark for more medicine for Beatrix Tyson who leaves home for New York & England tomorrow.
