Ther. 80o MON. JULY 25th Wind N.W. Another extremely hot day - Hilory Washington was here for advice & medicine for himself and "Lilly Awkard brought her infant for advice & Sarah Wright was here about dark for medicine etc for her grandson Clandeses". Thermometer 80 at sunrise and 95 at 2.30 p.m. in the shade. I suffer very much from the heat. Mrs Gideon Gilpin & her sister Mrs Scott called after dark.

Haizy & Clearing Ther. 81o TUESDAY 26 Wind Variable Last night was too hot & close for us to sleep well. Willie went to help Henderson's haul a load of straw "for bedding" from Harding's.

"Haizie" & Clearing Ther. 83o WED. JULY 27th, 1892 Wind N.W. Last night was fearfully hot again thermometer 89o on bureau in our room at 1.30 a.m. and 84 at sunrise. Willie went into the store to help them for a few days whilst "Clifford" is away. I was sent for and drove over to prescribe for "Sam" Johnson at his mother's about 1-35 p.m. the hottest part of the day "Phil" went with me. Edwd rode "Frank" over to B D Palmer's this morning & took a photograph of their little boy - Lucy Hopkins daughter of "Ned" here for advice & medicine. A storm was 'brewing" all the afternoon & came upon us after dark at 8-30 and after the extreme heat was quite violent as was to be expected.

Clearing Ther. 78o THURSDAY 28th Wind N.W. The storm last night continued until near mid night, it was quite violent for two hours ; the wind doing considerable damage it blew down a locust tree at our front gate. I drove over to see "Sam" Johnson again. Edwd with me. Willie went to the store again this morning to help them. Mrs Chas Stabler was here for advice & medicine. "Elenora" Bell ironed for H.

Clear 82 Ther. FRI. JULY 29th, 1892 Wind S.W. Sarah Wright here before I was up. Eli Johnson also here to see me about "Sam". I drove over to Sarah Johnson's & down to to Ashton. E going with me. W went to the store again.

Clear & Cloudy Ther. 80 SATURDAY 30th Wind S.E. I was quite unwell this morning, Suffering from pain in bowel's head ache & prostration from the continued hot weather. Eli Johnson was here for advice & medicine for Sam. W went to the store again. Mr: J A Williamson was here & I took some medicines & ordered some more to be sent by express. Thunder storms passed both north & south of us about suppertime. We had a shower, and it it looks & feels as if we would have more storm during the night: it is not much cooler - yet "Old Prob" predicted a cold waive to day that has not come to bless us so far.

Cloudy Ther. 79o SUN. JULY 31st 1892 Wind Variable The "Cold waive" promised us as to arrive yesterday has not put in an appearance as yet: It is slightly cooler to be sure, but still very hot & oppressive. Willie drove over to Riverside and to Thos. Leas and home towards evening. We had quite a rain about supper time with thunder & lightening which cooled the air very considerably. There was a colored camp meeting at "Mt: Zion" and they have been passing all day backwards & forwards in all sorts of vehicles, all loaded down with colored humanity of all ages, sorts & shades of color.

Cloudy & Clearing Ther. 70 MONDAY, AUG 1st Wind N.W. Delightfully cool breeze this morning - Sam Johnson was here for advice & medicine also Chas: Addison. I drove down to Ashton & to see E. Elkhorn's child. After dinner Willie went to Muncaster's on his way to Lincoln Va. Phil Robison with him to bring the horse & buggy home. Chas Addison was here for advice & med: also Mrs W Oldfield for med: for "Billy" . I was afterwards sent for & went to his house and prescribed for him. "Phil" returned at 4.30 from Muncasters where he left W. who expects to go to "Lincoln" tomorrow, via Washington Luther going with him.

Cloudy Rain & Clearing 72 Ther. TUES. AUG. 2d, 1892 Wind S.E. Tilghman Mitchell's wife brought their daughter Emma to consult me before I was up. Louisa Bowen came to wash for N - I slept none last night, it rained one or two showers after mid night. Mary Winfield here to consult me for her eye. Rachael Cole brought her infant daughter for advice & medicine. I drove to Ashton & to Elkhorn's & was caught in a heavy rain. Edwd: with me "Louisa" came & washed for H. After dinner I walked up to see Billy Oldfield again & to the store. We had a Demoratic meeting in the evening in Oldfield's paint shop.

Clear Ther. 70 WEDNESDAY 3d Wind N.W. Beautiful cool morning. Afternoon I drove to Ashton & to see Elkhorn's child again. I went up to see Wm Oldfield this morning. Wrote out a report of the Democratic meeting for publication in "Balto Sun" and the County papers. I am not feeling at all well, being weak & good for nothing.

Clear Ther. 73o THURS. AUG 4th,1892 Wind S.W. Warmer again last night and this morning but a nice breeze from S.W. after about noon. I drove down to Ashton & to see Elkhorn's infant again. Willie Grady with me and went again, having been sent for to see Mr Evans. Sister Harriet came in the evening stage, having left Boston at 5. o'clock yesterday afternoon and came directly through without stopping in Philadelphia.

Clear Ther. 74 FRIDAY 5 Wind N.W. We had three thunder gusts last night between bed time & 3.o'clk this a.m. one of which was very heavy, it rained in torrents for more than an hour. I slept "none or next to none". I drove down to see Elkhorn's infant again & also to prescribe for Eleanora Bell's daughter. Afternoon Edwd rode "Frank' to "Riverside" & home before sun set. Jno W Johnson was here for advice & medicine for himself. I had two new "steel toed shoes put on Franks front feet at Thos Marlow's shop.

Clear Ther. 73 SAT. AUG. 6, 1892 Wind N.W. Clear & pleasant early in the morning. I was called up to go & prescribe for Mrs Ent (before breakfast). I went on horseback . I drove to Ashton again called at Ent's at Emma Kings (to see Evans) and at Alcorn's to see their infant and Eleanora Bell's daughter who is still there. Willie came home from his Virginia trip after supper. Sarah Stabler called & spent evening here.

Clear Ther. 71 SUNDAY 7th Wind N.E. Beautiful morning. Willie drove "Frank" to Rockville to meet Dora, who came with him yesterday to Washington & was to stay with Hannah Archer last night & come to Rockville this morning : I walked down to Elkhorn's to see Eleanora's child & Elkhorns infant. After supper Fred Iddings called on his way home (to Riverside) and Willie took him on over there, he looks very badly & is completely run down.

Clear Ther. 76 MON. AUG. 8, 1892 Wind Variable Very warm or hot weather again. Hard upon the sick - drove over to Elden & Riverside taking sister Harriet with me. I left her at Riverside & Bro C brought her home afternoon W took Edwd to Walnut Hill & Brighton to take "photos". Sophie & Alice Peirce called in the afternoon. I went to Riverside to see & prescribe for "Fred", who is in need of a complete "let up" and rest in quiet & some treatment in the way of "building up"

Clear Ther. 80 TUESDAY 9th Wind S.W. Last night was the hottest we have had this summer; and I feel "used up" to day. I drove down to see Eleanora's little girl & went over to Thos Leas after Alice Dickenson - Louisa Dorsey came to wash for H. It has been extremely hot to day. Margt Powell brought her daughter to consult me after supper. Jno W. Johnson rec'd his pension check to day & had me go to see him receive the money - ($120.40). He paid me his bill $5.00

Clear Ther. 82o WED. AUG. 10th, 1892 Wind N.W. Thermometer stood at 85o on the bureau in our bedroom at 1-25 this a.m. and it is extremely hot today, not withstanding a fine breeze. Sarah Stabler, Bro: R & Orvin Painter called before meeting. I drove to Ashton & to see Eleanora's child ("Phil" with me) Bro: Chas & son "Fred" called Afternoon it looked like having a thunder strom, but it passed around north of us, but May come back during the night. Willie was in the store helping them afternoon & evening.

Clear & Cloudy Ther. 82o THURSDAY 11th Wind N.W. Clear & Cloudy with a light shower about 10. o'clk a.m. I drove down to see Eleanora Bell's two children & Alcorn's infant. Willie went into the store again this morning. The continued hot weather is hard upon us all. Clifford Waters came & took tea with us, after which he & Willie went to "a dance" at Olney Grange Hall expecting to return & spend the balance of the night here. Mary Gilpin called after supper. Thunder storm passed north of us again this evening.

Clear Ther. 79o FRI. AUG. 12th, 1892 Wind N.W. Willie came home from the dance at Olney at about 3. o.clk this a.m. I drove down to Ashton to see Bell's children & also Alcorn's. Afternoon I took H & sister H in the "Surry" over to call at Thos Lea's & home to supper. Melville Parker took tea with us. Miss M Colt brought sister Beulah to call here. After supper Mary J Kirk called to see sister H. Sarah Hammond was here for advice & medicine. Ladia Thomas also here for advice & med: for her daughter in law.

Clear Ther. 75o SATURDAY 13th Wind N.W. Clear & cool this morning. I took Dora & Sister H in Surry to Riverside to call, calling at Bell's & Alcorn's to see their Children. I went to see Sammy Grady "(Cy" Grady's son.) I left sister H at Riverside & brought Fanny home with us to dinner to spend a day or two with "Bessie". Afternoon I drove over to Lydia Thomas' to prescribe for Mary Thomas (her niece). Edwd with me. Willie was in the store all day . Saml Johnson was here in evening, also Robt Blair who cut my hair & I paid him $3.00 on an old account leaving a balance of $1.15.
