State of Texas, / Council Meeting October Ist, I906. / City of Fort Worth./

To the Hon. Council of Said City:

W.J. Webb respectfully represents to your Hon. Body that he is the owner in fee of a certain lot of land in the Geo Shields survey situated within the limits of the city of Fort Worth, and being described by metes and bounds as follows,to-wit: Beginning at a point II00 feet south and 30 feet east of the Northeast corner of said Shields survey; Thence west I40 feet to corner;Thence north I00 feet to corner; Thence east I40 feet to corner;Thence south I00 feet to place of beginning.

Second. In the Deed Records of Tarrant county,Texas, there is recorded in Vol.93,Page 9,what purports to be a Tax Deed, wherein E.A. Caldwell,Assessor and Collector for the City of Fort Worth, attempts to sell certain real estate as the property of Robt.McCart,Wm.Capps and S.B.Canty,part of the said real estate being 55 acres out of the said Geo.Shields survey, situated in the city of Fort Worth.Said property was so sold for taxes that were said to be due to the city of Fort Worth for the year I89I,and while the description of the said 55 acres is very meagre and uncertain, your petitioner supposes and believes that his above described lot is embraced within the said 55 acres in the Geo.Shields survey.

Third. The records do not show that any suit was ever filed or judgment of foreclosure rendered against said property, and two abstract companies, the Texas Title Co. and the Guaranty Abstract & Titile Co.,after careful search, certify that all taxes upon said property, that is,the Webb property as above described, have been paid.

Wherefore, premises considered, your petitioner prays the City of Fort Worth to grant him a quit-claim deed to his above described property,in order that the cloud cast upon his title by the aforesaid tax deed be removed.

V.K. Wedgworth Attorney for Petitioner.

Since filing above petitioner has obtained a certificate from the City Tax collector to effect that all taxes up to and including year 1905 have been paid. Certificate is attached hereto marked "Exhibit A"
