ALAMO NATIONAL BANK BUILDING SOUTHEAST CORNER COMMERCE AND PRESA STREETS.

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS, Jan. 13, 1905.

Dic. D.E.H.

Mr. W.J. Gilvin, City Tax Collector, Fort Worth, Texas.

Dear Sir:-

I have your statement of 1901 taxes covering block 22 and block 35 on which I notice that there is an accumulated cost and interest charge of $23.43. The reason the taxes for this year were not paid on this particular property is due to an error on the part of the city Tax collector's office, as to whether it was you or your predecessor I cannot say. However, I have been paying right along and intended to cover 1901 as well as other years, so I take it that your office failed to include this year in the statement rendered me. In as much as I have paid all the taxes up to date I see not reason why taxes for 1901 should have been omitted. However, I can find no tax receipts for that year so I take it that my tazes for that particular year remain unpaid on this property. Under the circumstances I deem it but just that I should be remitted the charges of $23.43 and I would respectfully request that you file this letter with the City Council or the Finance Committee with a view of getting the costs remitted. I am prepared to pay, the amount being $63.00, but consider that I am entitled to the remission of $23.43. Costs & int.

Thanking you in advance, I am,

Respectfully yours,

DE Hirshfield
