Mr. J.F Henderson, Chairman Police Committee, Ft. Worth, Texas.
Dear Sir:-
REplying to yours of the 24th inst in regard to citizens of the 5th and 7th wards of Ft. Worth complaining in regard to this company constructing side-tracks for the purpose of standing engines, cleaning fires and taking water: I am at a loss to understand wherein this is an inconvenience to people living in that vicinity any more so than trains passing by, however, we might put a high board fence along the street if same should be required. We intend to commence at once to construct a turn-table at this location in order to turn our engines at Ft. Worth instead of taking them further down into town, which will be a little more convenient to us than having to take them to town to turn.
Yours truly, RJ Sullivan

To the Honorable City Council of Fort Worth, Texas
Your petitioners, whose names are hereto subscribed, respectfully represent unto your Honorable Body that they are resident citizens of Fort Worth, Texas, and are personally interested in the welfare of South Rusk STreet, which they represent to be in a deplorable condition, in this. That about three blocks North south of the hospital there is some low ground on said street across which runs a branch at the foot of the bluff, and that said branch is circuitous in its route as represented by the rought platt hereto attached, and marked Exhibit A, and made a part of this petition. That said branch overflows the low ground lying within its bounds during most every rain that falls of any consequence. That said street is a populous on both sides of said low ground and the ditch, and that it is almost a matter of necessity for the citizens to have some improvement placed there on.
Wherefore your petitioners pray that your Honorable Body will immediately order said low ground graded and said branch straightened across said street and a bridge built across the same and such other improvements as may be deemed important.
Respectfully submitted.
