JOHN T. MONTGOMERY, City Secretary.

W. J. ESTES, Assistant.

City of Fort Worth. OFFICE OF CITY SECRETARY.

Fort Worth, Tex, Feby 1 1901

Hon Mayor & Board of Aldermen

Gentlemen

Your petitioner would respectfully state that on 4th street running into Harding on the North side, the property for 100 feet juts out into the street, and the owners of said jutting property, are aware of the fact that said property in the street does not belong to them, but to the city, and makes it impossible to build sidewalks on that side of 4th Street. Therefore you are asked to instruct the proper committee to have such inconvenience removed.

REPLIES TO THIS LETTER SHOULD BE SENT TO THE GENERAL MANAGER.

Box 394

Fort Worth, Texas, 1/30/05.

Mr. John T. Montgomery, City Secretary, City.

My dear Sir:

Replying to your esteemed favor of the 25th inst., and complying with your request therein and as per our franchise with the city of Fort Worth by which this company is to pay 2 per cent of its gross receipts to said city and render statement thereof by the 15th of January each year, I beg to say that the gross receipts for the fiscal year ending December 31, 1904 are $13,166.10, 2 per cent of which would be $263.32 for which I beg to enclose you check herewith.

I suppose that you know that this company did not charge for telephone service during the first three months (January, February. and March) of 1904. I also beg to call your attention to the fact that our books are closed on the last of each month which will bring the next financial statement to be rendered to the city on January 1, 1905 to December 31, 1905.

As per our franchise agreement with the city, you, or whosoever the city may appoint, has the liberty to inspect our books for the purpose of varifying the statement as made to you above.

Yours very truly,

JOSEPH A. MURRAY Gen Mgr.

Examined found correct and funds lodged with the City Treasurer
