In regard to the Tax Claim against the property owned by B. F. Wallis in Jas. Ryan's addition I will say that I prepared and filed the petition before the City Council to executed a deed to the City in consideration of the City, releasing all claims it had against said property for taxes - and afterwards the Council asked the Assessor & Collector for a statement as to what taxes were due and he found the amount as shown by the Resolution & it was agreed to the [?] offer & acceptance was to cover all city taxes against the property & if any error was made it was owing to the Assessor & Collector failing to get up a correct tax statement.
