The repairs upon Main street be changed from the plan originally reported so as to carry to the water or drain from the north side of Main street at the lower corner of Judge Clark lot. diagonally across to Parmalee lot in the direction of the natural channel. and [illegible] bridge or culvert made across the street for that purpose and its ditch in front of Genl Edwards lot filled up so that the water can no longer take that direction. On motion, the Board adjourned.

Nacogdoches 8th, Sept [September] 1852. The Board met persuant [pursuant] to call = preasent [present] H. [Hayden] H. Edwards, Bennett Blake, J [Jesse] H. Muckleroy, Jas [James] Starr, Henery [Henry] Raguet, and James Hart. The proceedings of the last meeting red [read] and adopted.

On motion, resolved that the report of B Blake the Comt. [committee] appointed to examine the Calectere [Collector]. Books be recieved and the Calector [Collector] Auth -erised [authorized] to proceed to colect [collect] under his assessment Also that this Calector [collector] be autherized [authorized] & requisted [requested] to make a suplamental [supplemental] assessment of unassessed property and colect [collect] the same after aproval of the Board

Nacogdoches 21 June 1853 Board of Aldermen of the City of Nacogdoches met this day persuant to call present H. H. Edwards, Henry Raguet, Jas [James] Hart, A A Nelson, Amos Clark, John Forbes, who formed a quorum of the Board.

The following resolutions were adopted. Resolved that where as it appears from a return of this Hon [honorable] B [Bennett] Blake, Chief Justice of Nacogdoches County that an election held on the 2 [2nd] day of June past under authority of an act concerning this Corporation of Nacogdoches approved Feb [Feburary] 11/52 [1852]. The following named persons were duly elected aldermen [aldermen] and officers of said Corporation to wit Jas [James] H. Starr, Henry Raguet, Jas [James] Hart H. [Haden] H. Edwards, C. [Charles] S. Taylor, John Forbes, A [Albert] A. Nelson & Amos Clark

John S. Roberts, Constable and Thos [Thomas] G. Hubert, Collector that this aforesaid Alderman such as were present be duly qualified and declared Alderman in accordance with this statute. Where upon M. Chf [Chief] Justice aforesaid being present [present] an the aldermen present were duly qualified An election by ballot was then had for Mayor, Secretary, and Treasurer which resulted in the election of Amos Clark esq [esquire] as Mayor, A [Albert] A Nelson as secty [Secretary], & Henry Raguet as Treasurer. John S. Roberts Esq [esquire] came forward and declined [declined] accepting his officers of Constable.

On motion, it was resolved that the Treasurer and Collector each be required to give penal bonds in the sum of six hundred dollars for the faithful performances of their duties.

On motion, it was resolved that the Board adjourn until to-morrow [tomorrow] morning at 11 o'clock a.m. A A Nelson Amos Clark Mayor Secty [secretary]

Nacogdoches June 23nd, 1853. Board of Alderman met pursuant to call Present the Mayor Amos Clark and Al dermen [aldermen], H Raguet, H H Edwards, James Hart, and A [Albert] A. Nelson Secty [Secretary].

Collector presented his Bond on motion. Said Bond was approved by the Board. Collector was qualified by Alderman Hart.

The following resolutions were adopted to wit

Resolved that this Corporation ordinance no [number] 2 including amendments relative in the assessment of taxes for the years 1857 & [and] 52 [1852] be adopted and renacted for the present year of 1853 and that the same published

Resolved hereafter that the regular meetings of the Board shall be held at the Mayor's office at the time fixed by Bye law [bylaw] 1st of the Corporation 10 o'clock until otherwise provided

Ordinance no [number] 19 providing for the filling vacancies that may occur in the offices of the Corporation was adopted.

A Committee of one consisting of Genl [General] H.H. Edwards was appointed to examine this accounts of Treasurer and Collector and report at the next meeting.

On motion, adjourned at the next regular term re course.

Nacogdoches, July 8th, 1853. Board of Alderman pursuant to call present Alderman, H [Henry] Raguet, Hart, Starr, Edwards, Forbes, Taylor & Nelson, Secty [Secretary] C.S. Taylor, Mayor Pro tem Jas [James] H. Starr and C.S. Taylor [?] as Aluevmen by Alderman Hart.

Alderman Starr noted the object of the meeting whereupon the following resolution was adopted to wit

Resolved that a Committee of two to consist of Alderman Starr & Hart be appointed to contract for and [illegible] the ditching and draining of the town the work to be done as early as possible the com [Committee] being authorized to buid this Corporation for the ne cessary amount of means provided the same shall not exceed one hundred and twenty five dollars said com [committee] to report monthly to the Mayor or oftener if required by the Mayor or the Corporation.

On motion, adjourned.

Nacogdoches, July 9/53 [1853]. Board of Alderman for this city of Nacogdoches met pursuant to call

Present his Honor Mayor Amos Clark, Alderman, J.H. Starr, C.S. Taylor, James Hart, H.H. Edwards, and A [Albert] A. Nelson, Secy [Secretary] now following resolutions were adopted to wit

1 Resolved that the contract entered into between J.H. Starr & James Hart and Michael Michan for ditching and draining the City of Nacogdoches be rec [received] and the [illegible] is hereby approved.

2 Resolved that there be appointed by the Mayor a standing committee upon streets and roads within the corporation to consist of three members of the Board of Alder men [Alderman] whose auty [authority] is shall be to examine from time to time and report to the corporation what improvements are necessary to be made and such other information as they may think important to the cor poration whereupon John Forbes, C.S. Taylor, and H.H. Edwards were appointed three committee.

Whereas John Roberts who was at the last reg ular election for corporation officers elected town Constable having failure to qualify within the time required by the law. The said office is therefore declared vacant and the mayor will order and hold a new election to supply the said vacancy in the present term and until the next regular election on motion adjourned
