When the following Alderman and officers were elected for the year ending April 7th, 1853 H.H Edwards, Bennitt Blake, Henry Raguet = Amos Clark Jesse H Muckleroy = Nicholas J. Moore James H. Starr = James Hart

John F. Roberts, Collector. [Illegible] Johnson, Constable. It is therefore resolved that the previous named are duly elected to the positions respectively mentioned for the term mentioned where upon it was resolved to go into the election for mayor and other officers of the Corporation to which accordingly being done resulted in the elections of H.H. Edwards, Mayor Henry Raguet. Treasurer Luke H. Muckleroy. Secretary for the ensuring 12 months or until their successor are duly elected. On motion, it was resolved which the Board of the Treasurer and Collector be [fitted] at one [hundred and thirty] dollars each.

The a/c of the Treasurer showing [illegible] [ilegible] of the Corporation of 79 24/100 dollars was recieved and ordered to be filed.

The a/c of the Mayor for monies recieved a week of fines showing the receipt and payment to the treasurer of 34 dollars was recieved and ordered to be filed.

On motion, the Board adjourned.

Nacogdoches 30th April 1832 called meeting of the Board of Alderman for the city of Nacogdoches met at 11o clock. Prompt H.H Edwards Mayor Muckleroy [inelligible] Blake Raguet Clark and Hart Alderman - Minutes of last meeting read and approved the following resolutions were adopted Resolved that the corporation ordinance No 2 relative to the assesment and collect - ion of Taxes for the year 1851 be adopted and rewarded for the fiscal year of 1852 and that the 2nd section of the same be so awarded as to make the poll tax one dollar instead of fifty cents as here of one.

Be it resolved that the Corporation No 7 relation to the shooting of fire Arms be amended so as to read after the word in the line of same as follows. to not within or across any street or highway within the limits of the Corporation or whom the public square or any vacant [illegible] within one hundred and fifty yards of the Court House. [Illegible] shading being prohibited any where within four yards of the Court House.

Resolved that a Committee of two be appointed to [examined] and report upon the neglecting refrain upon or about the bridge across the Lanana and the [illegible and widening of the town also upon any other neglecting repairs or improvements required to be done within the limits of the corporation.

Nacogdoches 11, May 1853 Board of Alderman for the City of Nacogdoches met persuant to call present H.H. Edwards, Amos Clark, James Hart, H [Henry] Raguet, and B [Bennett] Blake.

The Committee on Repairs, A [Amos] Clark & B Blake made a written report which was read & on motion addopted [adopted] and ordered to be filed.

On motion it was resolved that the Mayor be authorized to make contracts for the repairs set forth in the report of Miss Clark and Blake and that he recieve sealed proposals for said repairs within the limits there was specified --

Resolved that the 3 a section of the law no [number] 11 regulating the fees of Collector be so amended as to entitle the Collector to a fee as commission of ten percent upon all taxes by him collected for the present year of 1852.

On motion the sum of five dollars was appropriated as follows to Mr. L Roberts for repairing bridge three dollars to H.H. Edwards for Blank Book one dollar fifty cents to Jno [John] C. Morris for recurring nuisance fifty cents.

On motion it was resolved that the Mayor appoint two [to] him to digest and report a system for seteling [settling] [cut off]

Corporation limits and authority as provided for in section 1st and 2d of the the supplementary act of incorporation passed 11 feby 1852 appointed in said Committee James H. Starr & Amos Clark. On motion the Board adjourned.

Nacogdoches 8th of June 1852. Board of Alderman for the City of Nacogdoches mit [met] pursuant to call present H.H. Edwards B [Bennett] Blake H [Henry] Raguet Jas [James] Hart & J.H. Muckleroy. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. H.H. Edwards comt [committee]. to advertise and receive sealed proposals for repairing the bride [bridge] and streets, made a report accompained with a bid from S.M. Orton which was rejected it having acceeded [exceeded] the amt [amount] as reported by the comt on repairs - which was on motion ordered to be filed. On motion, a new ordinance no. 15 in re- gard to the duties of [illegible] of public homes was read and adopted to take effect from and after its pasage. On motion, the Board adjourned.

Nacogdoches, 12th of June 1852. Board of Alderman of the City of Nacogdoches met pursuant to call present H.H. Edwards, B [Bennett] Blake, A Clark, N.J. Moore, H [Henry] Raguet, and James Hart.

The minutes of the former meeting were read and adopted.

On motion it was resolved that H.H. Edwards be constituted on Committee to employ a superintendent to take charge of the repairs of the streets as contemplated by the report of the Committee on repairs made 11th May last and also to superintendent and have done any other necessary repairs upon the streets and that said superintendant be required to pursure the necessary implements tools [illegible] and hire the hands necessary to accomplish the work in as economical a manner as practible.

On motion it was resolved that James Hart be appointed a Committee to examine the grave yard and report when the necessity of extending and hard for, and also [illegible] of it if any should be set apart for the Burial of Black & colored corpses and what [illegible] is necessary to the same.

On motion, it was resolved that an ordinance against the playing of Billards & ten pins which was read be addopted [adopted] to take effect from date [cut off]
