Nacogdoches 28, November 1851. Board of Alderman of Nacogdoches. Much pursuant to call present J. H. Starr, Henry Raguet, Charles Chevalleir, George Clevenger, H.H. Edwards.

The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved.

On motion it was resolved that the sum of twenty five dollars be appropiated for the repairs of the roads within the [illegible] of the corporation when the condition that the citizens of corporation be exempt from labor in said roads. Said sum of 21 Dolls [dollars] is appropiated to be held subject to the order of the road overseen [illegible] and that said appropation be for the present year only, and all previous who have not read their corporation [illegible] taxes. May be liable to laborer upon said roads.

On motion, an appropriation of three dollars & 56 cents be made to pay on [accounts] of Mr. Chevallier Barnes for books and stationary furnished said Corporation. On motion the board adjourned.

Nacogdoches, 4 of December 1851. Board of Alderman of the City of Nacogdoches met pursuant to call present J.H. Starr, P.U. Ford, H Raguet, Geo [George] Clevenger, J. Jennings, H.H. Edwards.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. On motion, it was resolved that the appropriation of twenty five dollars made for the benefit of the road overseen Mr. Cue in the 28 Nov [November] last be repealed.

On motion the sum of twenty four dollars was appropiated to pay George Clevenger for building of three bridges, two [across] the turn ditch and the other in the lane of P. H. Ford. They having been completed in accordance with a contract made with him under [illegible] of the board of [illegible] past. On motion the board adjourned.

Nacogdoches 2 July 1852 Board of Alderman of the city of nacogdoches met permanent to rule, present J.H Starr, Cha Chavallier, H Raguet, James Hart, H H Edwards

The meetings of the previous meeting were read and adopted.

On motion a committee of three were appointed to inspect and report upon the repairs upon the streets, which have been made under courtesy previous committee, appointed and aid Committee J Hart, H H Edwards and H Raguet.

On motion it was decided that the committee on reopening streets be the [illegible] instructed to report at as early a day as practable upon the necessity of reopening a lane on alley for main st north [illegible] between the lots not occupied by M Clevenger & Willams on the north side of main street.

On motion it was resolved that the treasurer recieve the Collectory report [illegible] settlement with him and report thereby to the board as early as possible. On motion, the Board adjourned.

Nacogdoches, 4 of February, 1852. Board of Alderman of the City of Nacogdoches met pursuant to call present Henry Raguet, P.U. Ford, Jas. Hart, George Clevenger & James H. Starr.

The secretary being absent, Alderman Hart was appointed for the meeting.

The Committe consisting of Alderman Hart, and Raguet a majority, reported in the contract of George Clevenger for repairing streets under contract of Dec 1/51 that the said work had been done according to contract.

Copy of report - To the Board of Alderman of Nacogdoches, we the underassigned Committee appointed to examine the streets a worked on by George Clevenger, as per contract have it assigned the same and find it done according to contract. 4 July 1852 signed Henry Raguet James Hart

The report was recieved and ninety dollars ordered to be paid on the same and the balance of any at any future period. On motion, it was ordered that the Committee appointed in the streets be instructed to contract for the cleaning out of the ditches either by private or public contract. On motion, the Board adjourned.

Nacogdoches, 10 April 1852. Board of Alderman of the City of Nacogdoches met pursuant to call present . J.H. Starr, Mayor, Henry Raguet, James Hart, Bennett Blake, and H.H. Edwards.

The following report from the mayor J.H. Starr was presented, recieved, and ordered to be needed in the minutes.

To H.H. Edwards, see if the Board of Alderman for the City of Nacogdoches [illegible] herewith I hand you to be filed with the paper of the Corporation, the returns of the Election held on the 13th [illegible] for eighth Alderman one collector and one corporation Constable for the City of Nacogdoches for the ensuring year commencing April 7th, 1852. The [people] elected are as followed: H.H. Edwards James Hart Bennite Blake Henry Raguet Amos Clark Jepe Muckleroy Nicholas J. Moore James H.Starr

John S. Robert, Collector Lom E Lohurm Constable all of whom have him not offered to meet at your office at 10 oclock am of the 7th April next for the purpose of organizing, [illegible] respectfully James H. Starr Mayor

On motion, the following resolution was addopted [adopted] Is appearing from the return of the mayor that an election was held on the 13th of March 185? under authority of an act concerning the corporation Nacogdoches approved on February 11th, 1852.
