Nacogdoches 29 June 1852 Board of Alderman of the city of nacogdoches met pursuant to call..presentH.H Edward, J. H. Starr, A. Clark S. J. Moore, B.Blake, J.H Raguet The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Jepe H Muckleroy tendered his resignation as alderman. which was read and upon motion ordered to lie over for further consideration. On motion it was resolved that the collector shall only assessproperty for taxation which was held on the first of January of each year. That being the date at which the property is subject to taxation under the ordinance. On motion the board adjoined,

Nacogdoches of Aug 1 1852 Board of Alderman met pursuant to call of the may a- presentH.H Edwards, J H Starr A Clark B. Blake J H Muckleroy & H Raguet The proceedings of the previous meeting having been read & adopted - Mr J H Muckleroy withdrew his resignation as alderman and tendered his resignation as secretary of the Board which was accepted and James Hart public [illegible] to file the vacancy accasioned [occasioned] thereby - upon which The board perceeded [proceeded] to ballot and James Hart was duly elected secre tary - The Committee appointed on the 11th May last to report a system for the selecting of titles to real Estate within the corporation limits under Sections 1 and 2 of the incorporation law of 11 July 1852. made the following report

To the Mayor of the city of Nacogdoches The undersigned Committee appointed on the 11th day of May 1852 to report a plan for carrying into effect the 1st Section of the act of February 11/52 relating to the corporation of Nacogdoches Respectfully submits the following In so far as said Section relates to releasing of the Corporation title to Individuals in case where such individuals are in [illegible] under color of title and there is no known adverse title or claim The Committee are of opinion that the Corporation [bottom of page cut off]

Changes than the expenses of the Deeds and surveying or defining the Boundaries of the Lots for which such title is released. And that in other calls where two or more persons may claim the same property under color of Title, or where it may be doubtful that other title than a possessing light exists in any one, each case shall be considered and determined by the Board on the facts presented And that all Lots believed to be public property shall be sold after survey to the highest Bidder Under these views, the Committee present the following Resolution which were adopted Resolved that all persons owning or claiming property in the City of Nacogdoches, who wish to avoid themselves of the benefit of the 1st section of the Law passed February 11th 1852 concerning the City of Nacogdoches are requested to present their evidence of Titles to claim to his Honor the Mayor of said City, such papers are in Spanish being translated into English or an abstarct of them. in order that the Corporation may take such action for releasing the Corporation title to the holders and occupants as may seem right 2nd Resolved that the 1st Section of the Law mentioned in the foregoing Resolution together with said Resolution be published there in sections one monthly in the Nacogdoches Chronicle and put up at three public places in said City 3rd Resolved that before Titles shall be made or property sold, under the foregoing recommendation that a Map or plat of the Town, or Corporation shall be made giving Names or numbers to the Street designating their course and width and also the size of each Lot or Block with a number or name attached to each of that said Map be recorded in the County [last lines cut off]

also on The Books of the Secretary of the Corporation Resolved that the Mayor be authorized to employ a peron to make a map of the City under the foregoing resolutions Jas [James] H. Starr Amos Clark Resolved that Bennett Blake be appointed a Committee to examine the assessment roll of the Assessor & Collector as made out for the present year and if approved of by him that the Secretary furnish said assessment & collector with one copy on which to make collections retaining the other Copy among the records of the Corporation. On motion, the Board adjourned.

Nacogdoches 3rd September 1852. Board of Alderman met persuant to call .= Present H. [Haden] H. Edwards. B [Bennett] Blake A [Amos] Clark, James Hart and Js [James] Starr

The proceedings of the previous meeting were read and adopted.

On motion, on ordinances concerning pits and well upon [illegible] lots was read and addopted [adopted] and ordered to be recorded, published in accordance with the regulations made & provided in such cases.

On motion, it was resolved that J.H. Muckleroy be a Committee on behalf of the Corporation to give the notice to fill the wells and pits and otherwise and otherwise to carry into effect the ordinance this day adopted on that subject. -

On motion, the Board of adjourned.

December 9th, A.D. 1852. The Board of Alderman of the City of Nacogdoches met according to call of the Mayor present H. [Haden]H. Edwards, Mayor Bennett Blake, Jas [James] H. Starr, Jesse H. Muckleroy The Bord [Board] haveing [having] organisid [organized] an account of George Clevenger was presented for labor on the roads & streets in the corperation [Corporation] for four hundred and ten, 15/100 dollars which was allowed and the following resolution addopted [adopted]. [illegible] that the Mayor be authorized to draw upon the treasurer for the sum of four hundred & ten dollars and 15 cents. The amt [amount] of his bill for repairs upon the road, streets of the City of Nacogdoches - said amount being hereby appropiated [appropriated] for that purpose. On motion, the Bord [Board] adjourned. James Hart, secty [Secretary].
