March 2

1931. Came to town this morning and went to school. Mrs. Mann went to Teacher Meeting tonight. Lila, Joe and Hollis came tonight & we played some. 1932. Went to school today, we had a test in Shorthand today. Studied some this afternoon. Listened to the Radio some tonight. 1933. Sis and I finished piecing my flower garden quilt today. Mrs. Della Merrill and Elmer Lindsay came this afternoon. 1934. I got breakfast, dinner & supper today and cleaned up the house. Ruby & Loyd came this afternoon. It has rained today and melted the ice & snow away. Dock went after Sis and Nora Lee this afternoon. 1935. I got breakfast & helped cleanr up the house & Sis got dinner. Lanna Scott was real sick last night & Sis went to see her this afternoon & will spend the night. Buck James ate dinner with us. Loyd came this afternoon. Rex went to Loyd's tonight.

March 3

1931. I was sick today and didn't go to school. Got a letter from Cosby. 1932. Went to school today. Mrs. Mann, Ernest and I went up to the Mission tonight to hear a converted Jew preach. 1933. Sis and I cut out some quilt pieces this morning and we went to see Elizabeth this afternoon, she is getting along fine & has been able to set up a little. 1934. I got breakfast, washed the dishes, and helped Sis tack her comfort. We finished tacking it today and Sis hemed it tonight. Earl and Joe came tonight. Rex, Earl, Dock and Joe played Rook. 1935. Some body broke in Loyd's house yesterday afternoon while they were away from home & stole a good many things. They think it was two men. Rex went to Loyd's this morning. Loyd and Rex went to town this afternoon. I did the general house work today. Sis came home this afternoon. Mr. & Mrs. Walter Merrill came tonight.

March 4

1931. Went to school today, am some better. Came home this afternoon. There won't be any more school this week. 1932. Went to school today, and came home this afternoon. I got a letter from Cosby today. 1933. Sis and I went to town this morning & spent the day with Jess. We heard the inauguration of President Roosevelt over the radio Rex came to town this afternoon & we went to Mother's & spent the night with her. 1934. Rex and I went to church at Liberty this morning. Joe, Basil & Buck came this afternoon. Joseph, Buc, Basil and I played Rook. Basil & I won the most games. John Marion came this afternoon also. 1935. Sis took Nora Lee to school this morning. Rex, Loyd & Jasper went to town this afternoon. They had Clyde Gipson arrested for breaking in Loyd's house but he says he wasn't down in that part of the country Saturday. Sis went to Lanna this afternoon & will spend the night.

March 5

1931. Stayed at home all day and studied my English a little. mother and myself played rook tonight. 1932. Stayed at home all day and I read some short stories. It has snowed some today, and is turning colder. 1933. Rex and I spent the day with Mother and Dad. We came home late this afternoon. 1934. I cleaned up the house, got dinner and quilted some today. 1935. Rex, Loyd & Jasper are going to a fortune teller to see if she can tell them where there stolen things are & who stole them. We think we know but don't know for sure. They brought me to town this morning & I spent the day with Mrs. Mann & Ernest. Ernest is sick with a sore throat. Uncle Brock came to Mrs. Mann's after me & I came home with him & went to Mother's.

March 6

1931. Stayed at home all day. Dad has arranged for me to go to school with Dortha Kirkwood. I will come home each night. 1932. Stayed at home all day. I read some short stories today. The weather has been so cold today that Cosby didn't come. 1933. Sis and I washed today. Mr. Tom Springfield dropped dead this afternoon. It rained this afternoon and is raining tonight. 1934. Dock and I washed this morning & I got him dinner. I churned, washed my head, and moped the kitchen, porch, hall, middle room, Dock's & Mr. Slaton's room, and the dining room. 1935. Mother & I washed a few pieces this morning. Ocie & her children came this afternoon, Mother and I went to see Uncle Brock a little while late this afternoon.

March 7

1931. Stayed at home all day. It has rained most all day. I wrote a letter to Lorene this afternoon. 1932. Came to town about 11 o'clock & didn't go to school until 12:30 on account of the cold weather. Studied some tonight. 1933. I have been nearly sick today. Sis and I ironed this morning. I got a letter from Alline Slaton today. 1934. I got breakfast this morning. Aunt Pattie came this morning and Aunt Pattie and I went to Leona's to the missionary meeting. had a real nice time. I came home this afternoon and cooked supper tonight. 1935. Mother & I spent the day with Emma Whitledge. Mrs. Charley Johnson & her baby spent the day. Also, Mrs. Dave Harris came a little while this morning. Miss Emma, Mother & I went to Mr. Jim's in the afternoon and I called Jess & talked to her. Sis was a Jessie's & I talked to her also. I went to see Uncle Brock a little while late this afternoon.

March 8

1931. Stayed at home all day, and studied a little. Wrote a letter to Cosby. It has snowed most all day. 1932. Went to school today, studied some this afternoon. Ernest & I played cards tonight. It has snowed today. 1933. Sis and I cleaned up the house today, and I mailed a letter to Mother and wrote one to Alline Slaton. Sis and I cut quilt pieces tonight. 1934. I got breakfast, dinner and ironed some today. 1935. Mother & I ironed some this morning & we cut out some quilt pieces this afternoon. We went to see Uncle Brock a little while this afternoon and we popped some corn.

March 9

1931. Went to school today, and came home this afternoon with Mr. Kirkwood & Dortha. Walked from Kirkwood's home & sure got tired. 1932. Went to school today. Ernest & I played cards tonight. We played 6 games and I won 4 of them. The weather is still awful cold. 1933. Sis and I went to Evelyn's this afternoon and got her to go with us to see Lanna. Rex went to town this afternoon and Lawrence came home with him & will stay a few days. 1934. I got breakfast, dinner, supper and cleaned up the house and I finished ironing and churned today. 1935. I helped do the general house work. I cut some pieces for Mother's fran quilt. Mother & I went to Uncle Brock's this afternoon. I read some short stories today.

March 10

1931. Went to school today and came home tonight, had to walk home again & was nearly sick when I got here. 1932. Went to school today studied some this afternoon. listed to the Radio tonight. 1933. I cleaned up the house this morning. Ruby and Jasper came this afternoon. 1934. Rex and I went to town today and I went to see Jess, Aunt Ermie and Mrs. Williams a little while. We went to Mother's late this afternoon & are going to spend the night with her. 1935. It has rained nearly all day. I helped do the general house work. Mother & I went to see Uncle Brack this afternoon. I wrote a letter to Rex today.

March 11

1931. Went to school today and came home tonight. Dad came after me. got my grade cards today I made better than I thought I would. 1932. Went to school today and came home this afternoon. Mr. & Mrs. Conley and Raymond came a while tonight. 1933. Sis and I went to town this afternoon, she & Mary are going to Hanson to stay a few days. Rex went to town with Dock and I came home with them. Lawrence went home this afternoon. 1934. I went to Ocie's a little while this morning. Mother & I went to see Uncle Brack a little while this afternoon. Rex and I came home this afternoon. 1935. I started setting my "Desert Plate quilt together today. Dad & I went to Mr. Jim Lyon's this morning & I called home & talked to Sis. Sis said Mrs. Denton died Saturday & was buried Sunday. Mother & I went to Ocie's this afternoon. We went to see Uncle Brack also. It has rained nearly all day.
