show the payment of taxes for said year, : Wherefore they ask this Hon. Body, to place a fair and reasonable assessment on said lots, not to exceed the assessed value of the property for any one year since said t time, and these petitioners stand ready to pay the amound of taxes on such reasonable assessment. And petitioners pray that justice and equity be done in the premises, and they will ever pray.

It is very evident from the prior and subsquent assessments against this property that a clerical error was made and that the amount was inteded to be $400. In view of this fact we recomend that the assessment be changed to $400. for the year 1897 and that the city Assessor and Collector be and his hereby authorized to accept taxes on a basis of the valuation together with interest on that amount
