To the Honorable Mayor and City Council of the City of Fort Worth,
Texas:-
The remonstrance of we the undersigned citizens and tax payers of the second ward many of whom reside and own property afjacent to West Fifth Street, most respectfully and earnestly petition you not to grant the request made by the petition to this Honorable body on December the IIth Inst. asking that a certain portion of West Fifth Street be"cut down two or three feet and using the material that may be taken therefrom in widening and filling up the said street near Robinson Branch".
This petition is made for the reason that the portion of Fifth Street refered to viz: Extending from where West Second Street intersects Fifth Street and extending to Robinson Branch, is already too low, and now needs grading and filling. Many of us signed the petition dated December IIth, whose names appear on this petition, for the reason that we were under a misapprehension as to the real meaning of said petition and we now desire to most earnestly retract our acts in signing the said petition by placing our signatures to this petition.
However, we concur with our friends in asking this Honorable Counsel to take such action as is most advisable to have filled the
