State of Texas ) ) County of Tarrant. In Re. to tax rendition of City Taxes. )
To the Hon. Mayor and City Council of the City of Fort Worth.
Your petitioners T.P. Boyd and M.B.Harris , both residing in the City of Fort Worth, would show to your Honorable Body, that heretofore in the year I897, they became the owners of the following described property , to wit; Lot No. 4 , of Blk. 4, of Chambers Addition to the City of Fort Worth, became the property of petitioner Boyd; and Lot No. 5 of Blk. 4, said Addition became the property of petitioner Harris,. That said petitioners say, that they have legally rendered and paid all taxes against said property since they became the owner of the same; That said property has never been assessed higher than $250.00. per lot since they have owned the same and that value is a fair and reasonable assessment of the same; That prior to the time petitioners became owners of said property the same was claimed and the legal title was held by G.M.Otten and the City National Bank, J.P. Petitioners say that owing to the long time since said taxes were payable and, as petioners allege, were paid, they are unable to find any receipt for the same. That the same has lain been laying silent for all these years, and the paper receipts &c said J.P. smith Rec. can not be found but these since paid, but recently, to their great spprise, they accidently learned that the tax roles faild to show the payment of said taxes. Petitioners would show that said property was assessed too high for said year I897, and that the amount now charged on the tax records is unjust and inequitable that the reasonable assessed value, not then being as much as $250.00. per lot. Petitioners say that they are desirous that the tax records
