April 3rd., 1902

Honorable Mayor and City Council of the City of Fort Worth.

Gentlemen:--

I made a contract with your Committee to build an addition to the Seventh Ward Colored School and rent the same to the City for the sum of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) per year, payable in monthly payments of Twenty - Five Dollars ($25.00) per month.

It was further agreed between your comittee and myself that this contract was to continue in force until you should build your own school building. That when you built your own school building it was agreed that you should buy that addition which I made to the Negro school house at what it actually cost me to build the same.

For your information I attach hereto itemized statements of the lumber bill, paint bill and also receipt for the sum paid by me for labor in making said addition. You will see therefrom that the total cost of the lumber in said addition was $354.11, that the amount paid by me for labor was $132.35, for painting and paint $31.46 making the total cost of the building $517.92.

I make this statement to you now so that in the event you should determine to build at any time there can be no dispute between us as to the actual cost of the building.

Very Respectfully

Geo. W. Armstrong
