Be it resolved that the Mayor and City Secretary be and are hereby instructed to issue the city's notes in favor of the Neptune Meter Co, in the following named amounts,

One note dated Oct.25 th,I903, for one year..$2.I53.6 One note dated Oct.25 th,I903, for two years for $2.I53.65 One note dated Oct.25 th,I903, for thress years for $2.I53.65 and one note dated Oct.25 th,O903 for hour years for $2.I53.65 all to bear interest at the rate of 6 per cent from date, said notes being in payments of waer meters. Interest payable same annually

Fort Worth,Texas,Oct.22"/1903.

To Honorable Thomas J.Powell,Mayor of the City of Fort Worth and John T. Montgomery City Secretary,for and on behalf of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Fort Worth.

I respectfully notify the City of Fort Worth,through you as its officials that I have a claim for damages against said City on account of injuries caused my wife on the night of the 23" of September 1903, by being thrown from a wagon driven over and along Bessie Street in said City,and which said wagon was caused to drop into an excavation or defective place in said Street at or near a culvert in said Street, negligently left in said street by the City. Whereby my wife was caused to be thrown from the wagon seat to the ground seriously injuring her both internally and externally. From said injuries she was caused to remain in bed and under treatment of physicians or several days and otherwise permanently injured the extent of which injuries cannot now be definitely known.

I claim damages against the City in the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) up to the present time and said claim to be subject to the future developments in said case.

To the Honorable Mayor & City CouncilFt Worth, Texas.

Gentlemen:

Upon the statement of your City Assessor and Collector, hereto attached, it is shown that I have as Guardian of the Est. Jno Harra Decd paid into the City treasury, on personal property of said estate, for years 1897 to 1902, inclusive, the sum of Nine Hundred and Thirty Eight ($938.00) Dollars.

This money was paid by me under a misapprehension of the law governing the liability of owners of personal property and was wrongfully paid because, during these years, the owners of the property assessed were nonresidents of the City. All the facts in the case have been set out in a previous paper filed with you and, I now wish to make the following proposition for the return of this money to my wards, which I sincerely trust will meet with your approval= Permit the City taxes on the realty of this estate for 1903 and 1904 to be applied on the settlement of this claim Taxes for 1903 are $248.50 and for 1904 will likely be the same.
