JANUARY 25 19 Anne's first birthday. She had her gifts in her crib. Candle on sunwheat biscuit for dinner . sewed

Fri. 19 Anne two! Had gifts at table, went for a walk. Individual cakes with candles. I sewed some.

19 Anne 3. Gifts at table. Had real party. Balloons, peanut hunt, games and magic lantern show. Cleaned up fruit closet.

19 Anne 4. Gifts at breakfast. Played games, cake with her name on it, ice cream etc. Went to seminar meeting at Binks's

19 Anne 5. Gifts, her music class to play and they had party. Lovely day.

[p.32] JANUARY 26 19 Went with Mrs. [Werey] Bellamy,, Gordon and Argue to church to demonstration tea. Harold and I went to Oakwool to see 4 Mary Bros, in "Duck Soup." Very good.

19 Letters from mother and Dad. Donald cut out paddle boot. Baked gingerbread. Harold came home early. Letters from mother and Dad.

19 Harold [crossed over} out [crossed over] went for walk. [crossed over] knitted [crossed over] Reading Haydon's autobiography. Children had magic lantern show. Wrote letters.

Tues. 19 Went out looking at houses with Luella, then assisted at Brett tea; Luella, Alice Kemp and I went to see " After the Thin Man" and then to Childs. Very funny.

X 19 Finished typing and bound up novel. Very relieved. Sang with Mary. Washed her hair.

[p.33] JANUARY 27 19 Baked muffins, date bread and cookies. Luella and Phillip came in. Harold out. Read and knitted.

Sunday 1935 Sam here. Talked all morning. Harold and I went to Mrs. Plumptre's for tea. Very nice. Went to bed early. Very cold.

19 [crossed over text]The King's funeral.[crossed over text] Donald's class went to art gallery. Knitted and read. Darned hose. very cold.

Wed. 19 Cold and snowing. darned hose and wrote. made egg foo yong for supper

Thu. 19 very cold. Sent off novel, went to library and to hear Hubert lecture on Prof Mavor. Mr. Mac Farlane came and went over story with me.

[p.34] JANUARY 28 19 Raining in morning but turned very cold. Dr. Walton here for tea. Harold and I went to Tyrells for supper. George and Dora Tyrelle there, Dr. Wong, Gen and Mrs. Anderson and Miss Mc Michael.

Mon. 19 Snowing hard. Had roast chicken Sam brot 2 from Dtterville. Anne talking a lot. Practice on piano every day. Harold out. Made fudge.

19 The King's funeral. Harold, Donald and I went to memorial service at Convocation Hall. Mc Ilwraiths took us. Children giving plays.

Thurs. 19 Took Anne to Jill Mc C.'s birthday party, then went to University Women's Art at museum. Picked up Anne.

19 Took Anne to her class. Went to lunch at Mary Needler's. Saw last 1/2 of "Emile Zola." Very fine. Knitted and read.

[p.35] JANUARY 29 19 Very cold. Georgia Ballard came in for tea.

19 Took Anne and Hugh for walk. Very cold. Knitted, played games with Donald. Practiced, read to children. Harold out.

19 Harold came home for dinner. Very cold. Knitted and read. Went out shopping with Giorgia.

19 Went to dentist for x-ray. Luella took me. Had wisdom toth out at 8:30 a.m. bad time.

Sat. 19 Baked cake, etc. Harold home early. Reading stories of Hemingway
