JANUARY 5 [1934?] Friday Harold went to University for an hour. Very wet and icy. Wrote some. Went to Mrs. Ballard's for tea. Letter from Hazel.

[1935?] Mary's dancing class. Baked pies and cake. Took Mary to party at Alisn Kemp's. Read at library and then called for her. very mild.

[1936?] Sunday Harold and I went to tea at Bretts. I poured. very nice. Went to supper at Luella's. Harold and Isabel there. Lovely time. Donnie weaving on hand loon.

[1937?] Tuesday Went with Mrs. Harpham to Hand S. Mrs. Greenaway spoke on Fascism. I have bad cold. Steaming ary and Ann. Wrote letters.

[1938?] Wednesday Began typping on novel. Washed my hair. On evening went to Kemps to pour coffee at meeting of women's Commerce club.

[p.12] JANUARY 6 19 33 Saturday Took Anne for a walk. Harold too Hugh to ravine. Baked for Sunday. Went to postal station and Q. and P. after supper.

x 19 Sunday Mild and muggy. Read to children. Wrote to mother. John and Eleanore Long here for tea.

x19 Went with Georgia to H. and S. club executive. Donald and I learning to play cribbage in evening. Milder. Hugh has abscessed ear

19 Wednesday Miserable with cold. Went to bed early. Raining hard.

19 Typed on novel. Went downtown and to address by I. M. Clark at economics [building.] Very good. Cold. Children skating.

JANUARY 7 19 very mild. read to children. Did experiments with Don.Mary and I went to tea with Luella. Luella and Don came here for waffle supper. Snowing.

19 Donald in bed with cold. Went to rehersal for play. Mild and melting. Finished Johnston and Diereville.

19 Tuesday Mary in with sore throat. Smoking dress for Anne. Melting and dismal weather. Letter from Hughena.

19 Harold out. Knitting gloves. Played games with children. Mary went back to school.

Friday 19 Took Anne to class.Typed. Mr. Mc Farlane came and went over story with me.

[p.14] JANUARY 8

19 Took Anne and Hugh for a walk. Very mild. Sewed on dress for Mary.

19 Went early to school to rehears for play at H and S club. Went off very well. Mrs. Dignam bro't me home. Raining.

19 Baked and sewed. Reading Freuchen's " Arctic Adventure ." Practicing every day. Rain. John Long came up and taught us to play cribbage.

19 Practiced on piano. Reading life of Osler. Raining.

19 Typped. Luella and I went to Chinese Cafe for lunch- talked. Harold home early. Baked cookies.

[p.15] JANUARY 9 Tues. 19 went with Mrs. Ballard and Mrs. Roberts to H. and S. club. Met Mrs. Knox and went to symphony. all Wagner Mogram. wonderful.

Wed. 19 Took Hugh and Anne to bank. Very wet. Harold and I went to dinner with Tyrriells at national club. Lovely time.

Thu. 19 Mary and Anne came down with chickenpox. Read to Hugh and cordid trays. Haarold out. Raining. Wrote letters. goldfish 19 "Shirlock Holmes" dead. Took all children to Yonge St. H. and I went to tea at Mis. Dunlap's. very nice. Colder.

Sunday 19 Took children to church. Listened to symphony. Wrote letters.
