[p.41] FEBRUARY 4 Sun. 19 read and worked on history. Harold and Donald went for a walk. Went to supper at H.R. Kemps, Bladens and Jacksons there. Very nice time.

19 Took Hugh and Anne a long walk. Baked cookies. Finished 2 pr. pyjamas. Reading "Ur of the Chaldees."

Tues. 19 Went to school - Parents' Day. Mary went back. Hordes of people. Served enormous quantities of food. Sleet and heavy wind.

Thurs. 19 Darned and knitted on Harold's socks. Typed story. Letter from mother. Luella came in in evening.

Fri. 19 Worked on story. Finished aprons. Went to call on Mrs. Westcott. Mrs. Dawson there. Mr. Mc Farlane came in evening.

[p.42] FEBRUARY 5 19 Sewed and baked. Went with reading club to first night of " The Shining Hour" with gladys Cooper and [croosed over text] [.......?][crossed over text] Raym Massie. Went to Childs and had mushrooms.

19 Parents day at school. Visited children's rooms. served at tea. great crowd. very cold. Harold out . Worked on history all evening.

19 5 below zero at noon. Mrs. Humpkreys called. Went to hear Mr. Watson on Creative activity in schools. very good.

Fri. 19 Went shopping and to globe to see globe 1897.

Sat. 19 Took boys and Anne to museum. film on frogs and dragonflies. Went to Penny Bank. mild and wet.

[p.43] FEBRUARY 6 19 Went to parents' day at school with Georgia and Margaret. Visited Donald's and Mary's rooms. Very nice. Symphony concert - Piatigorsky - Cellist - wonderful.

19 Baked cake etc. 16 men came in evening to hear Prof. graham. Served coffee and cake. Very cold. Hugh and Mary at Denise's birthday party.

19 Went to library. Donald in bed with sore throat. Mary, Hugh and Anne at Denise's birthday party. Harold out. Children had a lovely time. Went to Mrs. Werry's for tea.

Sat. 19 Took Donald and Hugh to museum to Jun. Field N. pictures of frogs - very good. Looked at animals and boys drew. Blizzard.

19 Hard rain all day. Thunder and lightning. Harold took children and walk. Reading " The Last Puritan."

[p.44] FEBRUARY 7 19 Very cold. Harold away. Children and i had supper in kitchen. Letter from mother.

19 Took Hugh to Dr. Mac Donald and to optician. Came back in taxi. Took Anne out. Suny and lovely.

19 Darned stockings. Letter from mother. Children played outdoor all day. Donald and Mary made valentines.

19 Took Mary and Anne to s.s. Wainess, Easterbrook Clock and Father Mc Donald here for tea. very busy day.

19 Went down to Luella's for lunch and to Woolworth's . Lovely day

[p.45] FEBRUARY 8 Thurs. 19 26 below 0 at 9 a.m. coldest day on record.

Fri. 19 Tok children out. Beautiful day. Took Hugh to library and to opticians for new glasses.

Sat. 19 Mary went to Barbara's party. Hugh and I went to laying of cornerstone of new h. s. Baked. Bladins bro't buckwheat flour and talked a while.

Mon. 19 sleet and heavy rain. Went to seminar at Binks- very good discussion. Mrs. Werey in for tea.

Tues. 19 wrote 5 letters. Darned socks. Luella and I went to "Dead End." Lovely day.
