Sunday 11th Sept No Minister in the Morning, with the Girls very good, Afternoon Mr Drum addressed them Mr Armstrong in the Evening
Monday 12th Sept Margaret Hogg came from the Infirmary
13th Sept Mr Armstrong held a Temperance Meeting
14th Mr Robbins addressed
15th Sept All went on quietly
16th - Mr Drum gave them a Farewell Address
17th Mrs Reid called
18th Sunday Mr Mills address them in the morning and Mr Roberts held service in the Afternoon No minister in the Evening Elizabeth Riley and Elizabeth Davis made their escape but returned in the morning Elizabeth Davis was admitted again

Tuesday 20th Sub Committee present Mrs Smith and Mrs Allen
Wednesday 21st Sept Mr Howitt held a Temperance Meeting
22nd Sept Maria Lawes made her escape Taking the Refuges clothes with her Mrs Little took Louisa Hinton for a third time to try her.
23rd Sept Gentleman's Committee in the evening. Mr Bracy held evening Service Margaret Hogg has been very unwell all the week
24th Sept Washing all sent home
Friday Sept 25th No Minister in the morning all the Girls very good Afternoon Mr Roberts had Service evening Mr Howitt addressed them

Sep 30th Friday. 4 oclk Ladies Committee. members present 5 do . 5 oclk Gentlemens Com members present when Mrs Thos Roberts was appointed Matron.

Wednesday Mrs Goodletty spent an hour in giving 5th instructions to matron and receiving an inmate. Mr Howitt held a temperance meeting inmates all quiet and orderly at morn. & eve. prayer
Thursday Matron very short of sewing for the girls. cut 6th up 2 yards print for 2 sun bonnets & calico pillowslips etc for stock - rather than have them idle. Proposed that each girl learn a verse of scripture and repeat the same when assembled for eve prayers. purchased 1/2 dozn combs & 3 small do. and distributed them. they promised to keep their hair tidy and clean. which was impossible before. Melinda is very unwell, not able to leave her room, Emily Reid.
Friday 7th Several of the girls worked very hard in Scouring bed rooms, cleaning windows - besides ironing.

Oct 8th Saturday Matron went to market, taking the porter with her at 1/2 past 6 oclk to buy vegetables a many the girls have pimples, all over their bodies, seemingly through not having vegetables. - and for want of a change of clothes. sent for Dr Nathan he ordered medicine for 4.
Oct Sunday 9th. Rev? - Mills held service in the morn girls all quiet 3 oclk Mr Howitt ditto - he was very earnest - and three of the girls seemed to be deeply impressed - 7 oclk Mr Curtis & Mr Button & Mr Roberts took part in the good work. eight of the girls wept bitterly Elizth Davis knelt down in her bedroom and said her prayers that eve. which she never used to do.
Monday 10th Mrs Young visited the inmates Dr Nathan called. Mary is dissatisfied because she has to 'slave' in the laundry - without having any clothes given to her.
Received 12 Nos. of Sunday at Home & 12 Leisure Hour fm Mrs Goodlet for the inmates.

Oct 11th Tuesday. Ladies Sub Comm. seven present.
Wednesday Mary Ann O.Brian alias Williams escaped. 12th sent to the Police. she has been idle and quarrelsome & given great trouble -
13th Thurday Marg. Lamb very sick. gave her castor oil. and gruel. has an irruption too.
Emily Brown repeated 4 verses of " In evil long I took delight unawed by shame or fear" This girl only 19 yrs old. kept a brothel. she was one of the smartest in dress etc when the "All England eleven" were last in Sydney.
Whilst assembled listening to Mr Simpson's address 1/4 to 9 oclk Emily Colson came to the gate quite drunk. she left 3 bunches of water cress as a present. Mr Roberts went out in search of her but did not find her . Margt Lamb recovered
14th Friday Ellen Burmingham ['said' crossed out] told matron she wished to go out & requested to see the ladies next Com. day. her great grievance being, no tobacco to smoke! Mrs Reid walked around the Refuge, spoke words of kindness and encouragement to the inmates.
