4th mo 1866

4th 18 We all went rowing this morning. Walter brought us in town after dinner we left there in the 3 oclock. Father met us at the laurels, we got here at quarter of seven. Evan has not been here this week

5th 19 I piled some brush in the front of the house, I also mulched all the maple trees up in front. Bob & Evan piled stones all day, in the afternoon Ned Hill was here mixing his guano. In the evening Mother Sister & my self went up to the reading circle.

6th 20 Father Evan Bob and my self worked in the garden this morning, this afternoon I drove Grandfather up to Robert Moore. Sister went down to Julia Miles, found her much worse. Evan and Bob hawled off stones.

7th 21 Uncle Henry Stabler brought a quarter of beef veal here this morning. Bob plowed his garden. Father and I planted beets and snap beans in the garden. This afternon I went to Laurel and brought Uncle Frank Walter Charly & Herbert up from L...an

4th mo 1866 1st 22 This morning Father M[e?] and Uncle Frank went to meeting. Willy Hartshorne came down, We all went over to Oak hill after dinner Pattie Th and Emily Thomas were here in the evening.

2nd 23 We had a rat hunt this morn caught 12. Willy Walter Charly Herbert and my self started down to the river at 11 oclock. caught 9 fish got back at 6 oclock Father and Uncle Fred trimed Apple trees. Bob hawled rails

3rd 24 This morning we boys hawled off the brush that father trimed from the apply trees, Bob hawled rails. After dinner we nailed som plank on the ie house. Bob banked up some red clay against the house Cousin Ellen Farquhar has been here to day.

4th 25 We sheled 8 bushels of corn this morning, then went up to Uncle Bens. Went from there to Uncle Charles's in the evening. Corry Belle & Herbert come up.

4th mo 1866

5th 26 The boys went up to S stanmore this morning. Bob took 4 barrels of corn down to Celshower this morn I hawled some dirt behind the wagon house and went up to the store. After dinner Mother went up to the association Father Bob & I put up a fence betweened the truck patch and the pasture field. Mother Sister & went to Lecture in the evening delivered by Mr Vanboolin.

6th 27 Bob and I made a walk in the truck patch this morn, this afternoon I cleaned out the hen house Father and Bob finished the fense.

7th 28 We had a picknic down on the river to day. Walter Charly Herbert Sister Emily Willy & Pattie Thomas Corry Belle Cornelia Edith and Henry Miller Caleb and my self, we caught about 30 fish, had a very nice day. Bob worked in the garden. Walter Charly Herbert and my self took tea at Sunny side.

1st 29 Father and Sister went to meeting. Granvile and Harry came down this morn. I took the Boys down to Laurel. George Stabler was here in the eve Jannet has not been very well to day.

4th mo 1866

2nd 30 Father, went to Alexandria this morning, Bob worked in the garden I made a border for Sister, this afternoon Bob made a cucumber bed and hawled some rails for his garden. I took some corn down too the Farmer, m[is?] Jannet has been wright poorly Corry went up to Uncle Charles to day

5th mo 1st Bob hawled and cut wood it has been rainy all the morning Father got home from Alexandria about 3 oclock PM. brought 50 salt shad and 10 fresh. Jannet is about the same.

4th 2nd Bob and I cleaned out the drain from the pump shed, and cleaned up the kitchen yard. In the afternoon we got some pretty sedars and planted then down at the grave yard. Had a surprise party over at Sunny side this eve for Cousin Mary Anna. I stayed down to Uncle Bobs all night.

5th 3rd Bob and I hawled rails from the front of the house. After dinner Charles came over and he and Bob made a water melon patch. I was not well. Father Mother and Belle went up to Rockland

5th mo 1866

6th 4 I whitewashed the sellar floor Bob hawled rails to fence off the orchard. This afternoon I drooped corn for Uncle Fred. Father & Bob planted watermelon seeds.

7th 5 Bob went up and helped Granfather on the road till 11 oclock, then Father and he planted sweet corn. I helped Uncle Fred plant potatoes and in the afternoon I made lima bean hills

3rd 8 In the afternoon we had a splendid lecture from the Rev Bishop Whipple I went up to Ashton this morning took Corry Belle and Maud.

1st 6 I went to meeting this morning, took Uncle Warwick half way down to Laurel directly after dinner, then went up to Cousin Tom Lees in the eve had a very nice time, Maud came down this eve

2nd 7 Cousin Sally Bond came over this morning to sew for Mother. Bob and planted lima beans and fixed up about the house. Grandfather and Granmother came down this afternoon, I made a rat trap. Bob made some squash hills.
