3rd mo 1866

5th 29 Evan John & Bob picked up stones all day. I brought Aunt Marry Anna and Aunt Carry, down to Grandfathers from Cousin Mary Osburns, Aunt Albina & Uncle Asa were invited over there to dinner, then picked up stones till dinner time, after dinner I drove Aunt Carry and Cousin Mary Anna up to Olong, spent the evening brought Cousin Marry Anna back

6th 30 Evan Bob and my self split and hawled off some big logs that were on the new ground. Mother and Aunt Marry Anna went up to Uncle Franks. In the afternoon we picked up stones.

7th 31 I took Aunt Marry Anna down to Laurel she gave me 2$ Evan was not here at all. herd that little Anna [Moore?] died this morning In the afternoon it rained, towards evening we had a very heavy thunder storm, it struck 4 trees in our yard split one of the big chestnut trees badly. struck Cousin Willy Bonds house broke the sellar door all too pieces struck Cousin Mary Dick Dorsy and Margaret did not know any of them se[rious?]

4th mo 1866

1st 1 Mother Father and Caleb went to meeting I stayed home with sister. In the afternoon Johny Bently was here.

2nd 2 I plowed half the truck patch this morning, Father and Mother went to the funeral this afternoon we planted potatoes and corn, Mother & Father went up to an annual meeting of the Leyceum. Bob Evan not here

3rd 3 Evan cut down the chestnut tree in the front yard, I took four barrels of corn down to Celshner, Evan dug wholes for the grape vines, Bob and I hawled out the wood in the front yard.

4th 4 Prepared 9 holes for grapes, 5 feet long 2 ft wide 2 ft deep. then put in 6 inches of stone, and filled up with rich earth, about 8 inches above the surface, planted 2 diana 3 delaware, and 4 concord grapes. After dinner the men hawled off stones off Ned Hills part of the potato patch. I went to Washing with Uncle Fred, went to the circus had a splendid time

4th mo 1866

5th 5 We came up from Washington to day but could not get any cattel. got up a little after dark. Sister went to the reading circle Bob and Evan brook and hawled off stones all day, Father stuck the rasberries in the truck patch.

6th 6 Evan & Bob brook and hawled off stones 3/4 of a day Father and I finished sticking the raspberries and mad a rockery in the front yard in the afternoon I cleaned up the walks in the garden, had a thunder gust.

7th 7 Father Bob & Evan hawleded of and brook stones, [C A?] set out some onion sets and went over to Dr Palmers after butter, got 3 lbs and settled up for all we got before; it rained most of the afternoon, Edith Farquhar and Eliza Brook spent the evening here. Evan was here half day

1st 8 Sister and I went to meeting it rained most of the morning, Mother Aunt Hannah and my self went down to Julia Miles, over at Grandfathers also. it has been clear this afternoon. Cousin William Henry & Cary Taylor came over to day

4th mo 1866

2nd 9 Bob and I piled brush in the vistar Evan has not been here, this afternoon Bob & I hawled fodder Father burned bush in the vistar.

3rd 10 Bob and I hawled stones while Evan Broke them Cousin Carry Alice and Aunt Hannah were up here this afternoon. Warick found my knife today.

4th 11 Mother & Father went to Baltimore. Bob Evan and my self sowed clover seed in the field that we had potatoes in last year, sowed a bushel and a half of seed on ten acers. This afternoon Evan & Bob brooke & hawled stones, I cut wood. Mother & Father got back this evening. Uncle Fred has been here this eve.

5th 12 Bob & I picked up stones until while Evan broke them, towards evening I went down to Cape May with Sister after some stone for the rockery. We caught a rabbit out in the field that we picked up stone in

4th mo 1866

6th 13 Bob picked up stones while Evan broke them this morning, they finished picking the stones off the ten acre field, this afternoon they picked stones off the field in front of Bobs house. Granville & Harry have been here to day, I raked the front yard this morning, this afternoon I planted parsnips. Father Mother [James?] and Sister went up to Uncle Charles's this evening.

7th 14 Corrie Belle & my self started to Baltimore this morning, we arrived there at 9 oclock waited tell 1200 and then went out to the Ancorage found them all well. Found granfather and Aunt Eliza out here

1st 15 Gran Stone was out here about ten minutes on his way out to see his girl, the all went out rowing this evening.

2nd 16 It have been rainy all day we prayed in the house Granfather & Aunt Eliza left this morning.

3rd 17 C, B, Walter Charly all came in town to day, we recieved a letter from Mother saying we must come home to morrow, are all came in in the eve
