8] No reports from committees on – EducationAmerican Home Resolutions or Legislation.

Mary Tilton reported very successful work done by the Social Service League during the past year – and asked of anyone would be willing to take a little child – from New York – for two weeks – if so – get in communication with Miss Irma Marks the Social Director of the League.

No Unfinished Business

No reports form either County or State Federations.

New Business Letters were read –

From Dr. Bond relative to the Social Service League Drive.

9] From Miss York - and an invitation to visit and Exhibit of Colonial Antiques.

The report from the Community Council was read - The secretary was instructed to notify the Council that the report was accepted and send thanks for the work they are doing.

Elza Thomas asked all to help with the Hospital Supper - particularly the Fancy Table.

Rebecca Miller invited all to see her Silver Moon rose.

The Meeting adjourned.

1] Fairfield 7-4-1929 861st Meeting

Luncheon was served and a general time of admiration for the interesting home and furnishings of Fairfield.

At two o’clock the 861st meeting of the Mutual Improvement Association was called to order by Rebecca Miller.

There were no minutes of the last meeting at this place available – the meeting having occurred in 1863. It was suggested that Mariana Miller look up these minutes to read them at the next meeting.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and accepted.

The Treasurer reported – On hand from last report 27.15 Dues paid 1.25 To balance on hand $28.40

For Social Service League - $9.50

Report was accepted.

2] Next meeting place – Plainfield – at 3:30p.m.

Sentiment of Hostess – Fanny Iddings –

Sarah Adams contributed a very interesting article on odorless onions – but most of us really prefer to have our onions smell.

3] Nurses – composed of 19 national organizations which meets every 5 years. Betsy expects to attend the one this year in Montreal.

Mary Reading Nichols – read a poem very appropriate for the day – “Our Nation’s Colors.”

Deborah Willson – a poem – “A Child’ to a Scarecrow”.

Hallie Bentley – gave some interesting items relating to the Prince of Wales – and read a poem – “So Ignorant”.

Question – How did we all feel about our pictures in the Post? Didn’t we think we were better looking than the picture made us? All agreed it was very unsatisfactory – but suggestion was made that a copy be filed with the minutes.
