Special Committee on co-operation with The Wednesday Club in having the Chinese Girl give a talk had held no meeting so had no report. The committee was continued-

Mrs. Hough was recommeded as a Member by Margaret Bancroft - seconded by Estelle Moore and unanimously carried

Edith Green's report of the Semi Annual Meeting Montg Co F.W.C. was read by Mary Robison- no action taken

State Federation -Margaret Jones reported on several matters which we disposed of as follows -

Literature from the Department of Education was turned over to Mary Nichols. No action taken on the one act play. The report on voting was given to Stella Moore to fill out and send.

The resolution approving the Multilateral Treatus was endorsed - and sent to the Chairman of International Relations - Mrs. Young.

The reports of the Community Council of Sandy Spring Neighborhood were considered.

It was moved, seconded and carried that the Council be asked to join the County Federation of Wm's Associations.

Also that the matter of sewage disposal be taken up by the Council - and that hereafter no building shall be erected in Mont. Co. having open sewage disposal.

It was also decided to ask the Council to look into the conditions of the sewarage from the Montgomery County General Hospital.

Also that the Association would recommend a County Library rather than a Community Library.

Rose Hill 2-7-1929 857th Meeting

The 857th meeting of the Mutual Improvement Association of Sandy Spring, which was held at "Rose Hill" the home of Rose M Gilpin on 2-7-1929 - was called to order by Margaret Bancroft at 2 o'clock.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.

The Treasurer reported On Hand Jan 1 13.15 Dues paid 3.75 $16.90 On hand for the Social Service League $15.50 The report was accepted.

Next meeting place - "Avalon"

Mariana Miller - read from the old Minutes book of meetings at Oak Grove - Dec 1872 Alloway and Sunset in 1873.

Sallie Janney shared with the meeting a letter from Maria Stabler who is travelling in Europe

Emilie Massey - "The Bridge Builder" a bridge built - by an old man for the benefit of the youth who is to follow

Julia Hallowell-a poem "The Happiness Flower"

Sadie Adams - read of the great dangers of eating rhubarb, spinach, etc - and of the great virtues in vinegar - She read of a memorial to L' Enfant - and expressed the opinion - in which many concurred - that Andrew Ellicott should also be recognized
