Hallie Bentley- read another letter of Charles Iddings this one telling of the Inauguration of Abraham Lincoln. March 6. 1861. She also read extracts from another letter telling of an accident which happened to Isaac Briggs.

Fanny Iddings- a few verses by Susan Coolidge.

Mrs Roberts- a story from the Rectory Family - a little girl visitor wanting some tomb-stones because the Dales boys had lots of them in their back-yard.

Helen Shoemaker - read of an exiled Swedish family who wanted to return to their home.

4] Charlotte Farquhar wanted to know how to grow gladioli - Plant in garden soil - 4in deep - as soon as frost is out of the ground - a succession planting can be made until the middle of the summer.

Margaret Jones- What is to be done about continuing the Annals of Sandy Spring?- The Wednesday Club has appointed a committee to do what they can- All are asked to send in bits of historical interest- The biggest problem is the financing of publishing the fourth volume.

5] Sherwood – Fair Hill and Prospect Hill in 1873.

It was noted that the rules and regulations should be read once each year.

Mary Magruder’s article was about the visit made through the mining towns by the Prince of Wales – Much good should come of this tour.

American Home – Helen Hallowell – no report.

Social Service – Mary Tilton – the March report of the Social Service League was read by Estelle Moore. It was noted that the dues to the Travellers Aid are now due – Dues ordered paid.

Special Committee on Lecture by the Chinese Girl reported that this will occur at Sherwood – 4-10 at 2 p.m. – no admission.

County Federation – Mary Brooke reported a request that the women help to advertise the motion picture “Evangeline”.

State Federation – The Association endorsed the resolution relating to the Newton Bill and appointed two delegates to the Annual Meeting Mariana Miller – Margaret Jones – they to supply their own alternates.

Community Council report read – Margaret Bancroft appointed delegate and Helen Moore appointed alternate to attend the annual meeting.
