ABSTRACTS TO RANCHES IN WEST AND SOUTH TEXAS
To the Honorable Mayor and City Counsel OF Ft. Worth:
Your petitioner, Mrs. Jennie O. Johnson would respectfully show to your Honorable Body, that she is the owner of a tract of land lying in the City of Fort Worth, along the south boundaries of the Bluff Road and Valley street as originally laid out and used by said City, said tract of land extending about 340 feet along said streets. That without the knowledge or consent of petitioner theCIty of Fort Worth has changed the course of Valley street extending along her north boundary and has extended said street a distance of about 250 feet through her said property and 60 feet wide.
That notwithstanding the appropriation by the City of her property as aforesaid without her consent and without any compensation to her the said City has continuously taxed her said property including the portion appropriated as a street and she has paid to the City a large amount as taxes on said property. Your petitioner would respectfully show that she is willing to recognize and ratify the unauthorized appropriation of her land as a street as the same is now laid out and used, if the City will make her just and fair compensation for her land so appropriated, andshe avers that the sum of $350 is a just and fair compensation for the land so taken.
Therefore, she prays your Honorable Body to allow her said sum and now offers to execute any instrument confirming the City in the use of said street that may be desired.
