To the Hon Mayor and Board of Aldermen,

City of Ft. Worth, Texas,

Your petitioner J.S. Carruthers would respectfully show that he is assessed City taxes for the year 1901 on 26. 50 ft Lots 1 & 2 Block 1 Providence Addition to City of Ft Worth.

Petitioner would show that said property was prior to 1901 the property of 1st Methodist and Peach St. Methodist Churches and so was exempt from taxation; that he bought the property or rather contracted for it prior to Jany 1 1905, but that he had no title to the same until the conveyance to him was approved by Ft. Worth Dist. Conference of M.E. Church South and that said Conference approved said conveyance in May 1901 Under these facts petitioner respectfully represents that the aforesaid property was not vested in him in January 1901, that said taxes should not have been assessed against him and asks that said taxes for 1901 be cancelled.
