To the Honorable Mayor and City Council,

Gentlemen:

With the reference to the attached proposal of the Fort Worth Garbage CO. and the committee's report thereon, which was adopted by the Council at its last meeting, which papers have been referred to me, I would suggest that I think it is property that a resolution should be passed authorizing the mayor and city secretary to enter into a formal contract with the Fort Worth Garbage Co. on the basis of the said proposition and the committee's report, said contract to be drafted by the city attorney. That upon drafting thereof the contract be immediately executed.

Respectfully submitted,

E.C. Orrick City Atty

Fort Worth, Texas, May 2nd, 1905.

To the Honorable, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas.

Gentlemen:-

The undersigned, Fort Worth Garbage Company, hereby respectfully submits to your Honorable body its amended proposition concerning the construction and operation under appropriate city ordinances of a garbage plant and crematory, for your consideration.

The garbage company agrees to erect and put in operation in Fort Worth or its vicinity, upon lands suitably located therefor, and to maintain for a period of at least ten years a crematory for the sanitary disposition of all garbage, dead animals, and other unsanitary, or undesireable trash, filth, etc. It being absolutely indispensible that such an institution should be subject to the ordinances of the City in the exercise of its police and sanitary powers, and inexpedient for said company to undertake such an enterprise in the absence of the City's co-operation and supervision, the garbage company submits for the City's approval a proposed schedule of prices, and a suggestion for contractual relations with the City as follows, to-wit:

The City of Fort Worth to pay said Company for the disposal of garbage or dead animals, $1,000.00 per annum, to be paid in monthly installments upon the first day of each and every month.
