JOHN B. HAWLEY, CONSULTING ENGINEER, Member American Society Civil Engineers Member Engineering Association of the South, Member Texas Association Civil Engineers CITY ENGINEER, FORT WORTH.

Fort Worth, Texas, June 16th, 1905

Hon. The Mayor and City Council, City.

Gentlemen:

In accordance with your instructions of last meeting, I submit herewith a list of all streets sprinkled by the Ft. Worth Sprinkling Co., during the last quarter, and the one preceding it.

The remaining two quarters of the past year I am unable to furnish, except for totals, which you already have, for the reason that the blue print maps upon which the estimates for said two quarters were made, were erased and reused in making later estimates, to save making new prints. I can simply assure you that, like these submitted, the two lacking were made up from actual inspection of the work.

In the future the map will be each time filed with the estimate. The estimate for the last quarter shows about two one hundredths of a mile less than the statement herewith, and the one for the quarter ending Feb. 28th, shows that by error, we underpaid the Sprinkling Co. $36.00, or nine tenths of a mile.

The $270.00 appearing on each estimate since the quarter ending, May 28th, 1903, I was instructed to add to cover sprinkling all crossstreets in the business section, (which property owners continually refused to pay for,) as without laying the dust on them, other sprinkling was nearly useless in preventing damage to stocks of goods, &c.

This order was given me by the Mayor Chairman of Street and Alley Committee present.

Respectfully,

John B. Hawley City Engineer.
