W Jeff P. McLean. Jr. Walter B Scott.

McLean and Scott, LAWYERS. ROOMS 3,4,&5 MASONIC TEMPLE. TELEPHONE 866. FORT WORTH, TEX.

Fort Worth, Texas. June 13, 1905

To the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Fort Worth, Texas:

Gentlemen:

We herewith present you claim of P.E. Glenn for damages by reason of being injured while at work for the city on the I8th day of May I905 in the Water Works Department. Said injuries occurred on said date while Mr. Glenn was assisting in removing dirt and mud from a ditch being dug by the city, and the bank of said ditch caved in upon him, crushing the bones in his left hand and wrist, and injuring his back, hips and lungs. Mr. Glenn asks the sum of Twenty Five Hundred Dollars in settlement of his injuries. After investigating the matter we are of the opinion that the city is liable, and while the sum of $2500.00 will not fully compensate him for his injuries, still he has agreed to accept that amount as a compromise in order to prevent litigation.

Trusting that you will give this matter your immediate attention, we are,

Yours very truly, McLean and Scott
