JANUARY 1

1954 Fri. Bathed baby, baked mince pie, & roasted goose. Lovely dinner in living room.

Sat. 1955 Joan & Hugh here for dinner & tea. Had chicken & very nice time. Anne & I to museum to feed phenacomys. Anne out.

Sun 1956 To church at St. Thomas's 5th Ave. Very beautiful. To Grand Central, to "Cinerama Holiday", saw Washington Sq. on train at 8:10 at Penn. Sta.

Tues. 1957 10o, sunshine. Cooked leg of lamb & all meals. Luella, Laura & Rosie here for tea. Talked & played games - very nice day.

Wed. 1958 Wed. Windy & snow. All had dinner here & D. took us drive to Dunvegan & Chudleigh. Children played records. very good time. I heard last half of "Messiah"
