Sun. 19 Anne at Rattlesnake Point all day. Wrote letters & typed. Mary & George Ferguson came.

Mon 19 Cold. Worked on Southesk. To Univ. Lib. & shopped. Anne, Rosie & I to see "Vanishing Prairie" - splendid.

Tues. 19 Busy in office. To chiropodist & had foot fixed. Dinner in Union. Heard Symphony - Beethoven violin concerto

Thu. 19 Letter from Mary. To Chief Accountant & Press. Dinner in Union. Lecture on "Spain" at Museum. very cold.

Fri. 19 Heliconian Lit. luncheon on Camus - 17 there, very good On train to Ottawa. Read "Seven Years Solitary." Anne & Ian met me.

JANUARY 18

19 Washed. Milder. To shop & bank. check - up by Dr. Hilliard. Wrote letters

19 Had my hair done. Cold. Luella & I to Cent. Circ. & had tea. Letter from Donald.

Wed. 19 Worked on sheets, Lunch here with Women's Faculty Union. To Press & worked on Essays with Miss Houston. Mr. Westhead here.

Fri. 19 To Lit. Sec. lunch at Heliconian. To Dr. McDonald and got new Rx for glasses Dinner at Union.

Sat19 To store. Drove around suburbs - snow. Anne & I heard "Orpheus & Eurydice" on radio. Ian at badminton. Played "Andre Chenier" on records

JANUARY 19

Tues. 19 Worked in Ref. Lunch in Honey Dew & had permanent. Hugh sawing heads off beds.

Wed 19 Downtown & got will witnessed. Cold. Finished rough draft of Southesk. To Symphony " Malcuzynski played Lizst Concerto - very fine

19 Had lunch with Jane Ward at Diana's. Had my hair done. Worked on sheets. Anne & I to Can. ballet - "Sylphide & "Coppelia".

19 In office all morning. To see Principal re Miss Hughes. Typed on speech. Milder. Reading Cozzens.

Sun. 19 Cold. baked angel cake. Fitted slip cover. Elliotts in for tea. Ian & I followed score of "Walkure" - wonderful. Took night train.

JANUARY 20

Wed. 19 Sleet & rain. Worked here. Poured tea at Fac. Wives Assoc tea. Saw many people. To Symphony with Lois

19 Cold. Shopped at Avenue Rd. Revised Southesk, wrote letters Dalton[s?] & Alan C. here to see Russian stuff.

19 Lunch with Mrs. Beatty & 10 girls from Beaverton. Picture taken with W.U.A. Many people in & out. A's & my dinner - Clarks, Alex Brady, Alan - very nice.

Sun. 19 To church, to Hugh's for dinner. Back with Miss West to tea here. To concert at Hart House. Opera school.

19 My radiator froze & burst in my absence. Great to-do. Many people in. To bank. Dinner at Mulock.

JANUARY 21

Thu. 19 To Press with Delbert, Tom Miss Harmon etc. to plan Fur Trade. Shopped. Worked here. Sorted trunk & boxes.

Fri 19 Worked on M. & C. To Heliconian luncheon at head table & all spoke on novel. Very good discussion. Anne & Alan at Hugh's. Snowing.

Sat 19 Morning in office. Bright & fine. Afternoon in stacks going over Essays notes. Anne out. I read & washed clothes.

19 Meeting at Falconer Hall. Mr. Small drove me back. Residence Council met. Dinner at Falconer. Anne B. came in.

Tues 19 Prin. Com. met. Luella here for lunch. To-do over Heather Dean leaving res. To Lois's for dinner & to Silver Exhibit at Museum.
