[Friday 5 January 1951]

We at 8:45 breakfast at 10, made out checks for telephones, insurances, etc. went to kennel and studio. Packed had a snack and left on 4:14 to New York. Checked bags at Grand Central, bot 2 prs. stockings had dinner called Philadelphia + Franz, boarded trains to Cleveland at 7:40. Franz visited me at 8:15 and stayed until about 10, I retired at 10:45

Had check cashed at Dick's (35.00) Expenditures S.N.E. Tel 116.05 Medicine 6.50 service to station 1.50 ticket to N.Y. 1.82 porter, bags check .75 call to Franz .05 call to Phila. .44 stockings 3.57 paper + porter .55 dinner 1.88 waiter .30 Total 17.36 + 116.05 = 133 41/100

[Saturday 6 January 1951]

Cleveland concert Up at 8. To Pullman porter 1.50 porter and taxi. [Jofe] paid. Bell boy .50 tips to waiters for breakfast and lunch .80 Went to radio station for broadcast then to Urban League luncheon. Call from Abner Lynch Went for rehearsal at 3:15 on return got call from Nell Hackney and she and Abner Lynch came over and I thanked them for the roses (buds) they sent Abner returned the loan I made to him sometime ago (of 200.00) And he brot me pin. No sooner had they left with the young woman who accompanied them than Freibe called to wish me luck. (Maid .50) service .50 supper 2.50

Concert not bad at all. Returned to hotel to change + left Cleveland after 12

[Sunday 7 January 1951]

Up at 9:30 had snack with Jofe arrived Harmon 2 hrs late. weather horrible. Got out there but received message to go into N.Y. which I did, arriving at 1. Pullman porter 1:50, red cap .60 checking .45 call to Danbury .44, ticket Brewster 1.82 tip .30 porter .60, taxi from Brewster, home 2.00 Got dinner, Joey cooked duck, and went up about 6:30. Called Joey, Helen Strauss and Pola Stout. Assembled tax material, occassional glance at T.V. Retired at 1 A.M.

[Monday 8 January 1951]

Home Providence Up at 7:40 dressed, made bed, packed had breakfast at 8:50 got music from studio went to Danbury for 9:48 train to New York fare 2.56 we picked up Mr Harwig. Vogue .35 porter .85 Met Jofe on 12 o'clock train + we had lunch together and arrived in Providence at 3:30, went directly to Sheraton Biltmore + cleaned up to meet Press at 4:30 Served them cocktails and they stayed almost 2 hours. Had dinner at 7:30. Tip .40, finished figures and gave up letter at 1 A.M. tip .25 stamps .10 Retired at 1:45

[Tuesday 9 January 1951]

Concert Providence Up at 10 bathed, had food, tip .40 Jofe came in I wrote notes to mother sending checks to Widow's club for 100.00 and Phila Orchestra 5.00

Articles in papers. Franz arrived at 3:45 + we left for rehearsal at 4 returning at 5:30. snack and to concert at 8, photographer at hall. Concert could have been better for my part.

Gave many autograps + made tape recorded interview after concert. At hotel I ordered a salad + tea. (tip .40)

Retired at 1 + Tips to waiters .80

Expenditures .80 Donations by check 105.00
