Up at 9:20 breakfast at 10:15 Freibe + I worked on different or rather various things I made out checks to Mr Crawford, Coll. Int. Rev. and the farm Laundered scarf arranged my hairs, copied D. N. B. stubs had dinner, packed and got 9:33 train to New York, return fare 3.65 cab service 1.50 porter .75 taxi .60 porter .75 met Franz + Jofe at Penn Station had juice .10, boarded train at 11:30

Richmond
Up at 6:45 arrived Richmond at 7:55 porter 1.50 met at station by Mr Heeld + photographer, photographed also at magazine counter where I had to purchase a book .50 red cap .75 then Mrs Heeld brot me to Mrs Ellison's and she is charm ing. I unpacked washed up and had breakfast after which I did a little sewing, some reading etc then over to the College Inn for lunch.
Next was the broadcast then a short rehearsal at the house. Dinner at 5 for 6 and the concert was at 9. My sorority sisters brot fruit + the grad chapter sent flowers Concert not too well attended. Short reception at Union University in the College Inn, the return to the Presidents home the repacking + leav ing at 1:05 for New York.
Dr Ellison is fine but very quiet.

Arrived New York 11 A.M. porter checked tip 1.50 red cap .75 taxi to Grand Central .75 baggage checked .45 phone .10 taxi to Franz 1.25 the back to station $1.25 pastry .75 paper .05 porter .75 got the four o two train home.
Freibe met me (Taxi fare usually 1.50) Had dinner at 6:30, a look thru films, a glance now and then at T.V. called mother
Retired at 1 A.M.
