We are this day favour'd with yours of the 5th [instant?] by Elisha Dyar and two [thousand?] tobacco to be insp'd in the name of James Dyar, which shall be done as soon as the Inspectors comes to the warehouse, Also two [thousand?] which has been delivered us this morning by 2 Rollers on your [account?] to be in the name of James Gur. and Benjamin Allentharp - At foot is a note of the six [thousand?] sent us formerly, which we have taken the liberty to use, and shall either return you good Carolina Tob(acco) or pay you money as we can agree. - Inclosed is an account of the Salt [?] Sent which is put to your credit - It will be obliging us verry particularly if you will procure a person to carry the inclosed to Hillsb(oro) - We will cheerfully pay the expence, as it contains some papers of consequence to Mr [Monro?] and us - We are respectfully Sirs Your most Humble Servants Michl. and Jn.o Wallace [?]

I have enclosed you the last papers which [are?] the only ones I have beside me the enclosed to my care from Norfolk please give it as [passage?] to Mr Monro __ Excuse this hurried [Scrawl?] I am busy just now, & shall perhaps write you more [paper torn} [?] oppy. with any news that is stirring I have much need for to be in the back woods, but it is quite uncertain when I'll get there.

We have now before us your favour of 14 [?] [?] the. contents
Enclosed you have note of sundrys sent from this Waggon___ Mr Peck's tobacco is in such a situation as makes it necessary to repack it, we went to the warehouse to examine whether or not the waggone was in fault but find tis [?] to damage got at the plantation being very [word marked out} moldy, I will not [?] come in time to advise you the weights of this [?], we are obliged to you for the lists of the weights of your tobacco at cedar point___ We recommend to you
to selle the price of tobacco with your [cushmart] as fast as you convincingly can in these difficult times there may be some [?] in the price and you had also better hurry it down
