Sat'day Get ready to go to SYKES 10 MDT - 5:00 EDT fly. Learned to take stuff to read. Hard to think on flight. 5-7:30 Meet Anton ~ 5:30 Grand tour 7:30-9 Relax w/ Mary Tyler Moore, All in Family (the fire) etc. 9-12 Clean up, drive into city, park, have big dinner, talk a lot. 12-4 Explore bars in Greenwich 4-4:30 Home & to bed

Sunday 1:30 - 2:30 BS w/ Anton 2:30 - 3:30 take long bath 3:30 - 4:30 Breakfast (made it!) 4:30 - 9:00 Drive into city, see gay festival, go to Christopher street pier, have lunch & drive around Wall street, snack, etc. 9-10 Go get car, go to JFK, leave 10-12 Fly (relax on plane) Get room in Holiday Inn. Go to bed. Remember woman who came to front desk on her wedding night

Monday 7:45 -8:30 SYKES 8:30-9:30 relax, sauna, etc. 9:30-11:30 read. Then sleep.

Tuesday 8-3:30 SYKES leave Rochester at 4:20 after checking out, etc. 7:30 MDT arrive ABQ 8-10 meet Rob & screw around. Go home 10-11 put stuff away. Shower Read Chip's card that just arrived. Go to bed.

Wednesday (so far) June 29 Get up, have breakfast, get gasoline, wash clothes, write this. It will be 10 when finished. Then start moving.

So it has been a very MicroSoft 1 1/2 weeks with some New York which makes me appreciate Cal more. Chips cards are swaying me. Maybe I don't want a blondie. Guy last night was not that spectacular. Blond is great till 30. Then a zero. try to get Chip to work on chest.

It looks like there may be some hope even w/ Anita. There have been

lot of anti-Anita stuff in TIME magazine recently. Just some pro Anita.

New York is so old, ugly & dirty.

Meeting Anton is sort of like meeting myself. He is an extreme.

Getting more ideas about Per Soft. Commodore says they will be doing some financial software. That hurts.

Last Wednesday night I blew it with Chip. I forgot to call him to tell him I couldn't eat w/ him. Remembered about an hour late. Had tense dinner together Thursday though he gave me a paddington present. Got nasty note Friday nite. Got good note last

night upon returning from SYKES. Maybe he really wants me? Maybe I want him if he just gets his body together.

The examination went very well Friday except I corrected a statement of mine once (sort of look like perjury but I honestly made a mistake) and then I said Bill said MS had no rights to money from sales of object code, without source. Otherwise good & I felt very good Friday nite & Saturday. But I couldn't think well in plane Satday. Was restless. Next time be sure to take something to read.

SYKES is a real pit. It fits in Rochester well. That area is so old & run down. I'm so glad I don't work there. It was very boring. Those guys Rudy & Roy are so pathetic. Larry at least has interest & potential.

So onto moving & finishing my list of stuff to do. Ryan says things are exciting. Let's go.

Saturday July 9

Started moving Wednesday June 29 and packed some. Went to work. Bill and Paul were at court that day. They finished Bill. I worked out Wednesday night. Moving guy came Thursday June 30 morning. Gave him all info. He nearly sent it to wrong place dumb guy! Bill & Paul took me to lunch w/ all of MicroSoft, Chris Larson, Steve Wood, Monte, Greenberg, etc. Went to BV Ranch Co. Then I got lumped checks that afternoon for my salary and $1000 of 6800 money. Worked late Thursday night on 6502 stuff etc. Friday July 1 got stuff packed fully & ready to go. Then about two o'clock went into work & finished Elaine's accounting. Then said goodbye. It was very sad. Dropped off Chip's drawing. Tears. "Final" meal at Farr's. Then drove out with full tank in the Vette. Sad to see old town, Rein's place, APS, downtown go by as I drove out. Drove thru to Phoenix that night arriving ~ 2AM. DIdn't think too much. Maybe reminiscing is what I did I guess.

Really wanted to go to baths or someplace but suppressed the urge. Got up at 8:00 had breakfast, left. Heard my favorite DJ on the way out. Maxine.

Thought about random things on the way. Nothing too new. Arrived in Los Angeles Sat 7/2 about 6:30. Exercised till 8. Chip & I went to see sunset - already set. So we went to my Holiday Inn & unpacked. Got showered. Went to give back car of Chips. Then up to LA. Ate at Theodore's. Then to Studio 1. Back around 2. Up at 10.

Then shower, breakfast, and go to Disneyland Sunday July 3. Had a good day, though the lines were pretty long, we saw a lot. Chip had a good time. I lost $40 bucks somehow. It was just lying out or maybe fell out of my pockets. My final feeling was I hope someone gets it who needs it. It reminded me though to charge RM 15 cents/mile not just gas.

Came home from there about

2:00 and slept. Got up late next morning Monday July 4 and went to Brunch & then to go on bus tour of Beverly Hills! So touristy! But we had a pretty good time. It went to old LA and a very Spanish area which was a bad reminder of ABQ. Then we went back & changed and went to Beachbum Burt's for dinner.

We had to wait an hour so we went to lounge and had a Polynesian Cocktail. Over this we chatted our feelings for each other. I can't really say I remember it all due to drink but I did tell him I wanted him to exercise and that I not only wanted him to have a good chest but I need it as well. Then conversation went well though and we both ended it happily.

Then up to the city and scout around the other bars. This was July 4 so it was pretty busy even though July 5 was a working day. Went to Rascals, Rusty Nail, & Ball Shot. Rather boring. Then came home since I had to go to work.

Tues Jul 5 Got to work ~ 10:30. Checked in. Talked with RM about what I want to do & what they want me to do. I got my directions and around noon started on work. Went to lunch at Farrell's.

I consider this day Tuesday the beginning of the SUMMER QUARTER. This July 5, 1977. Because it was my first day at RM. It was just after my move, and the first working day of the week. Fri & Sat were for moving. Sat night, Sun, and Monday were for fun.

I will go over the cash situation after I finish talking about last week. I will write in my summary of last quarter's money & activities too. But first, the first week.

After 1:30 + lunch at Farrell's, Chip & I went to Manhattan Beach and walked up the strand from the Pier & back down Ocean Ave. Got #'s to call. Then dinner. Went to one place

and left due to bad seating. Then at at Kettle.

Afterwards we walked south from Manhattan Blvd to Hermose and back on Ocean Ave. I was really unimp. It gave me a headache just like it did last April when I walked up & down. Then about 8:00 we saw the sun set. Then drove back to Holiday Inn. Got changed & went to Ripples in Long Beach. Spent about an hour there. Then back home. Took about 45 minutes to get there. Only 1/2 hour to get back on Hwy 405.

As I recall now, we went to Ripples Monday and LA Tuesday night.

Wednesday July 6, Chip wanted to go to interviews, so I drove back to Man Bch, after I called a lot of realtors. They said best way is to drive around & also get the "Daily Breeze." So I did & called several #s. Amounted to nothing.

Then I began to realize

how far Manhattan Beach was from Rolling Hills. Quite a way. So I decided to sack Manhattan Beach on the premise that it was not yielding anything and was also too far away. Hormosa is the same type of city. So I started to check out Redondo. I had originally discounted that on the basis that I associated it with TRW. But by the beach it is gorgeous. I began to check it out.

Then saw Chip at 6:00 for drive to LA & dinner there & saw Chorus Line at Shubert. Then one more time at Studio 1. Then home. I liked Chorus Line a lot more this time.

Thursday 7/7/77 Chip went to more interviews & I went to study beach at Redondo. Called Alan Cohen that morning too ~ place in San Simean & arranged to meet him there at 7:15.
