thing about how much & how well I know Albuquerque. It is a very unusual feat I'm sure. I have done so much here. It has really been satisfying.

At dinner, Chip & I got pretty punchy. That was fun. I wish it could happen more often. He is rather imaginative. He imagine the waitresses doing everything backwards. Giving out dirty dishes & taking your iced tea.

So we're off to the new week. I didn't get Mikado ticket, but found out when get Rein's drawing, he wasn't home get toothpaste & toilet tissue, forget nor did I write R. M. I thought that is really a business sort of thing to do & I will do it this afternoon after I go to MicroSoft this morning. I like doing that sort of thing on weekdays.

Decided not to cancel Locke. Wait see, what happens at R.M. Maybe he can set up something.

Off to breakfast & then to MicroSoft.

Sunday evening June 19

One week from last writing.

Worked till ~ 1:30 and then went to beach after lunch. That morning I had thought I should think about all I had done in last six years. What the most important things were, etc. After lunch, drove to beach and thought same. Then 3- 5:30 read Electronics journals. Japanese VLSI. Then to movie & dinner & spa went to work for TM; then home to watch Pallisers, then read contract from ADP which just arrived & thought about. Then bed.

Next day, to work early. Left home after reading a few things I think. Work 8-1:30. Lunch & home. Think on EDITX. Come to definite conclusion about sell vs invest. There were a lot of variables. But because they would probably not buy for a big prices, because I do want to be involved personally, because I feel I am a leader and not other, because I don't want to be bossed around, because this is an opportunity to follow, because I have nothing really to do with any money I would get,

because I am inspired w/ per Soft and want to do things, with the idea of personal input to software development, because I want to continue to be associated w/ big computers, because all of things have developed to get me to this point, because I don't know what else I'd do, because I'd be lost therefore, because I want the profit that is made from these things. I may have had more reasons, but it seems so clear to me to go this way. Did this till 6:30, then went to store & to Chips for dinner + long sleep.

Wednesday work till noon. Lunch w/ Chip. No work to do. Work out at spa. Think & reconfirm my Tuesday decision. Then go to eye doctors & back to MicroSoft to mail something & BS'd w/ Bob. Then to bank to get money. Missed my plane. Arrange to take 3:35 morning flight. Home at 6:00 & decide my decision is firmly made. Then dinner. Then 7:30-8, realize what needs to be done to EDITX. That is, that things must be done.

Bed at 8. Up at 2. At airport by 3:25. Plane late. So I sit & think about things to be done on EDX. Do so on plane too. Came to conclusion that by time I leave in two weeks I should write up my business proposal & technical proposal, i.e. what I want to do. I had decided on Tuesday not to mail it. Just have it.

So 5 hours after getting to airport (about 3 hours of thought) I had finished my editx thoughts. Then the NCC. Went to Bill's panel. Was pretty good. Then saw Pet computer. Lots of crowds. Made me feel good. They could not take the regis cards fast enough. After eating, I saw lots of other interesting stuff like CDC mass memory & AT&T display. Met Bill et al at 6:00. Then dinner & to airport & ride airtrans w/ Bill. By postcards. Then 1 1/2 hour wait so I read "People" then played Peddles around the rose, which is

a game of recognition. I & Steve got it, Bill didn't. Bill said this year's NCC was just not like last years, so I am not disappointed for fun. Not too fun. Arrived home & to bed. Had good chats w/ Dave Bunnell about Pet on way home. He asked me why MicroSoft didn't do application software. He sure wished we would.

Then I worked all day friday, leaving at six to exercise & eat dinner at Farr's, then going to get sunglasses & tried Rein. Then home, call parents. Talk till 9:45. Then read NCC stuff till 10:45. Then MHMH & smoke w/ Paul, Marc then bar at 11:15. Saw Chip. Left for MS & read Pers Comp at 12:00. Left there at 1:00. Then sleep.

Satday, read NCC stuff from 9:30-12:30, them uSoft for snack & thoughts about the future. Really got into idea of doing high level software for MS. That seems a logical outgrowth of what I've done recently. And it gives an answer to why I have worked in Micro's specifically for a whole year. To learn the industry

of system software. Now have to do applications. Thoughts were that Bill & Paul will produce the cars & I will produce the fuel, the stuff that really keeps things going. I thought how this can come out of Per Soft, etc. & that it would be good to use RM's name then but will wait to negotiate that. So keep EDX, joint project & then do Per Soft. Then at 1:30 Bill, Monte, & Bob came. I talked till 2 & left & lunched & went to get my stuff at 3, so I could lounge in pool & get my thoughts together before relaxing for the weekend. So laid on my air mattress on Chips pool till 4 then went to Santa Fe to pick up tickets, & have drinks & dinner & see Mikado + get Senate. Remember getting rather lewd & having 2 girls get rude & then apologize. Mikado was boring.

Then home & to bed at 1:30. Up at 9:00 & to breakfast after wash up &

then to Elephant Butte at 11:00. This time Chip drove so I read rest of Pers Comp. When we got there we got food & went to beach by 2:00. Then I read Busi week & my Wall Streets. Left at 4:15. Had dinner & came back. Thought from 6-8, for 1 hour, on whether I want a long term relationship now or a few short ones. I want to develop several friends. I sort of want to shop around. Realized that if I were not leaving ABQ now it would be very difficult to break off w/ Chip. So since I want to continue to live a long time and live freely in LA, I will not start seeing anyone regularly till I know it can be very right & good.

At 8 I found out no lawyer meeting so came home, drank lemonade lots, showered & started writing this. Then at 9:45, go to Church's for chicken & eat at home & now am writing this. Chip has gone to bed. It is almost 11.

He suggested I visit a friend of his in NY, Anton. Maybe we

can see a play & go to museums & to Central Park on Sunday. That would be nice I said so Chip will call him tomorrow at work.

So tomorrow starts my last two weeks here. I have to get new tires do my personal accounting get paid by Bill get recommend pack & ship see Chip off on vacation Exercise, sun, read. Do basic litigation. Go to Sykes. Write up procedure for Elaine. See New York again. Write up stuff on EDX See Rudy ~ EDX

So I've got lots to do. I'll be busy but hopefully I'll leave Friday July 1. So 1st 2 weeks since May 21 was getting EDX thoughts worked up & out & brochure done & delivered plus 20 hours overtime. Last two weeks spent thinking about what I really want to do & reviewed past six years. Also came

to a standstill in my thoughts about EDITX and RM & about am ready to go forward & be aggressive at RM. !!!

I am tired now. I am going to bed. I will finish this here first though. I really have nothing much more to think about the last four weeks. My thoughts of detail have run out. I know what is left to be done. I have developed thoughts of sketch & form for the future over the last two weeks & I have also reviewed the last six years to some small degree. Now time to move on. Finish up all in next 2 weeks. Then leave & be done with it but really continue the whole plan in LA. Do Per Soft. Work at it but trust it to the Lord too. I am exhilarated by the things that have happened in the last two weeks. I am inspired. Will write more conclusively about this whole 1/4 later. Now bed.

Monday, June 20 deposition till ~6. Blew it. dinner exercise 6:30-8:30 9:00 Pallisers

Tuesday 6502 till ~4 Mines till ~12:30 after midnight Dinner was at 6-7:30 at high noon w/ Paul + Bill

Wednesday 8-8:30 at Mines Go to galleria arbitration ~10 leave 12 return to Gal. Read C world till ~ 1:00. Bill says no way for me today. I go to Lunch. In afternoon, do taxes & 6502 APPLE. 6-7:30 exercise 7:30-8:30 dinner 8:30-11 Mines

Thursday 7-9 at Mines discussing. Bill get direct exam all day I have Lunch w/ them at El Prado Finish OSI versions, etc. all day. Do cash analysis. 6-7:30 Dinner w/ Chip 7:30 - 8:30 Bill ~ Journals 8:30-9:30 Take care of Sykes trip concerns, etc. 10-5 sleep

Friday My direct & cross exam. Dinner, exercise, wash up.
