7 except 2 hours for lunch and going to Dataco for EDX stuff and to APS to deliver it. Then dinner w/ Donald Eastman at Santa Fe and to spa. Then back to MS till 11 then to Chips. Had bug in Array code all day.

Tuesday 8-11 uSoft. Then till 2 went home, read, sat in back yard, sunning. Then Lunch & to APS to get Materials. Made tape while there. Mailed it Fed Exp around 6:30. Then dinner w/ Chip. Today was Gay Ordinance vote day in Miami. Lost. Was sad dinner. Chip drove me out to base & we saw classified stuff. Then we went to MicroSoft & played with computers. Then to his apt & talked. He may come visit in LA first few days. Maybe drive out with me. OK.

Wednesday TI here. F inally succeed making good source tape in afternoon. Fed exp at 7. Had long talk w/Greenberg about languages.

Then to dinner & spa & home. This morning paid bills, wrote [Jante?] Clara, got organized. Now this.

Quarter past ten

I prayed quite a bit about Miami vote - lost 30-70. Maybe I am being bad being gay but I can't help it just like murderers and thieves can't help it.

Wednesday talked w/ guy at APS. He told me of DEC ensuing lack of support for 10 software. He said if he were software house he would offer that service.

Sunday I felt I'd gotten done all I possibly could. It was a day to rest my mind & I did by working my body.

Then Monday I took care of APS. Got bug out of BASIC. Tuesday & Wednesday succeeded in getting tapes & listings out. Also TI was here. & did general talking. Finished STM, Atari & SYKES, etc.

All caught up in reading.

Trip Tuesday night was good at showing me forces at work in protecting the U.S.

Monday night at spa I thought how really different

I am from Paul & Bill. How I really cannot stay in ABQ. If there were no hope for my leaving here, I would be so unhappy now. I know of a good market & what I want to do. I want to start working but I must play also. It is clear to me that all time through Dec 30 1976 was great. The first 3 mos of 1977 look needed to. Then the first two weeks of 2nd 1/4 were to change jobs & next 3 weeks were very busy. Then next two weeks, ending last friday were busy. I worked 20 hours extra but that includes working Memorial day. Nevertheless I got a lot of good EDX thinking done then. I don't have that much pressing to do right now. I think I should make firm decisions on EDX and write letter concerning it to Ryan. Over last two weeks I also made APS thing besides thinking ~ EDITX & worked 100 hours. This week worked hard Mon -Wed. Today not so hard. Now, at 11:00 go think.

Friday night June 10

At 11 I actually decided what to do then went to Fox Photo and Walgreens. Then at noon to work till 1:30. Then lunch at Wyatt's and home, call Chip. Then ~ 2:30 go to Chips. Sit by pool & try to think. But nothing really comes except enthusiasm for pers comp & pers soft. How it is right for me to be in it! How excited I have been ~ computers in the past, etc. How much I've done & how much I know. How I clearly can't change professions. Really no reason to go to B school. Law school has dredged up once in a while due to its seeming excitement, but has died now, deaths along the way just recently after reading the "Money" article about Law. Business school doesn't pop up too often because its not that glamorous. But I think I don't need it directly. Maybe sometime. But I think I can get someone to do whatever as I need them. I need & I will direct.

I had several thoughts. they were slow to come nonetheless. I need to read more and think freely. It is difficult for me to think and have to write about it too. For this reason I am going to stop writing any thoughts I have about ~per Soft as they seem to interfere with their free development. As time goes on & some ideas seem to stand out and become focal points or pivots I will resume writing my thoughts about that. I will continue to spend much time thinking.

Another that I had was about how much time I am spending w/ Chip. Maybe too much? I certainly needed him through May 1, and only saw him Tuesday nites. The next week & half He was gone May 9 wknd, was busy on Commo. Then I was sick the next weekend. He made it bearable. And dinner the next Tuesday. Then Marathon Mafia on Wednesday. "The way he was" (~ Nixon) on Friday & Satday nite to Santa Fe. Ben Hur on Sunday nite & Hello Dolly on Monday. Chip left Thurs nite for holiday, May 30. I screwed around Friday night.

It was just like old times. Worked sat'day night after Hilton pool. Sunday did church & sunned at La Luz. Saw Chip briefly Tuesday at Foxes after his return. "Sting" on Thursday. Read journals before. Friday, french dinner & "Autopsy." Sat'day nite late we drove to Crest. Left car. Hiked up Sunday afternoon. Slept over Monday night. Dinner & goof around - trip out to Kirtland - show Chip computers, Tuesday night.

Then Thursday night we had dinner & skateboard show at M Plaza. Home & we're at a loss for stuff to do. Could be good if we had things - backgammon game or book of card rules. So it looks to me like its all been fun. Though on the downhill. Must consider some movies like "The way he was" and "Autopsy" are just bad. But all in all it has been really good.

I worked thursday from 4:00 till 5:30. Then clean up, dinner & movie. Worked friday 8 till 7:30. Read till 8 about. Dinner till ~ 9, w/ Chip. Then home & do chore, like washing,

cleaning bathroom, bill paying, organizing, and then decided to write this much here. Figured out what to do tomorrow.

Cancel Locke (but see 4 pages ahead) haircut, dinner w/Chip & Mikado tickets found out now Get Picture from Rein Get toothpaste & toilet tissue Read through KIM manuals Think about what I want to do. Write R-M.

I want to say that my thoughts about my future in software are pretty sketchy. I have been slow to come to the realization that I want to be in software or computers any way. But that is so clear to me now. I see so many aspects of it now. All the time I've spent is justified. I don't know what this 1/4 is yet but it is a time to transition a time to finish all up, to see what it's like to be a worker, to think about my future, to read, to get ready for California, to complete (?) my relationship w/ Chip, and w/ ABQ. Now to bed.

Monday morning June 13

Sat'day after getting up at 8:45 went breakfast at 9:30 and work at 10:00 till 11:30 reading KIM manual. Also had snack & did some general thinking went to movie next to spa & to get haircut by noon. At 1:00, went to Safeway for yogurt and home. Came up with the symmetry of the last 6 years and noted that it has been 6 years since grad from Lakeside. It is rounding out now. Note I spent 6 years at Lakeside, 6 years at Graham Hill and 6 years before that. This last 6 years seems somewhat shorter than Lakeside's.

At 2:30 talked w/ Mark Pollini, then got car filled, washed & waxed then lunch at Wyatt's, then at 4:00 exercise 2 hours. Go home. Get cleaned up and go to Safeway to buy stuff for Chip's dinner. 7-8:30 dinner after Chip changes at Chip's. Then go see Roller Coaster Good movie. Had to wait in line 9:15-9:45. Then went out for one drink at Foxes. Home by 1 or so.

Then at 8:15 or so wake up, get it on & got up, showered snacked & went to Church at 9:30. Movie was on the Scientific Age. We will go tomorrow

Tuesday to see + discuss it.

Then to breakfast till 12:00 or so & home. Got all we need. Chip talks w/ Pollini again. Then at 12:30 go get what Chip needs & off to the Hilton. Sat by Paul & Ali McGraw was there. I walked by her and really her face. She was saying "It's so boring" as I walked by probably about ABQ. Ernest Borgnine was there too.

Read a lot. Floated around pool on raft. Read cover story on time on the New Rich. Confirms my desire to do something & not think about the money or fame or glory. Do the thing itself & see what happens.

At 3:30 or so we drove out to the pond & I donned my gold. Thought quite a bit laying down. All day Chip was taking pictures of me. I thought from 3:45 till 4:45.. Most important is to do something but do get money out of it. That is important too. But point is not just to do something to get money out of it.

Then we drove back to Chips and watched 60 minutes and

Then went to dinner after screwing around & long shower & drove up through Bernallio and actually saw water in the Rio Grande. Probably not to deep but it was covered. Saw sunset & listened to Oldies but goodies. Then home all along North 4th. I got craving for A&W rootbeer float. So I stopped & looked in phone book when we got to ABQ. And there was one at 3313 N. Fourth! So we had it and drove back home, getting gas first.

Then at 10:00 saw Pallisers. Very witty. Good show. Then went to bed.

So it was a very full weekend. Enjoyed it much w/ Chip. Probably got as much done as possible. Next weekend we go to armory for the arts for Mikado & Elephant Butte. I don't think there's anything left to do in ABQ after that, except for the Santa Fe Opera. I spent a few minutes during our drive after dinner to
