She will have the privilage of attending school to Benelltt. It is a very fine place. She seems quite interested in her studies. Has commenced Algebra. What shall I study? -- of course Algebra, and I think of taking French.

The bell is now tolling the death of one of my scholears a little boy of 6 yrs, one that I loved for his goodness, and aptness to learn. What a change in that place for so short a time! Such is the lot of man.

Will you ask Mrs K if she has any pieces of Frances cloak so that she could pattern it for a waist for her a dress -- If so will you sent it up. Do you understand?

But time forbids my writing more, will you excuse this -- and remember me in love to all friends. Your affct. sister Augusta.

My dear brother,

I have got almost settled in my new home, which I think will be a pleasant one. I board at No 1.

Our family at the present consists of only 5 five, We are daily expecting others. I room with Ellen Coggin of Tewksbury. She is a very pleasant girl and a good scholer. She is rather deaf, and I think it a good oppertunity for me to exercise my voice. I do not have much to do. Mrs Barett, the Mistress, has not come yet we expect her this week

I study, Geography of the Heavens, Bottany, Grammer, Arithmetic.

I expect to practice Cylistanics also Reading Composition. &c.

The school is quite large. All the arrangements have not bee made yet as to the school. I went up to Mr Jacksons the day I came up, and left my trunk at the Depot. From there I went to Mr. Chandlers. the same day I called to Mr Battles and to my sorrow I found that Augusta was at Boston, and had been there most a week. She was quite sick at Lowell with a fever for 3 weeks but that she was some better so as to be able to visit B'n. The Dr thought unless she had a fever she would probably go into Consumption but she had only a slow fever, and health is very poor. Joseph said he was fearful lest she would never be as she was las Spring at this time. I als fear. She will stay at her Uncle Bates Mary Jane knows where it is. I hope you will call and see her, if you wish for an excuse, you might call to see if she had received my letter
